Default Is it wise to get Toyota Aqua now?

    Hello,

I am interested in getting Toyota Aqua for my kids and home use. Cars are available in market for Rs. 17 - 18 Lacs. Importing a good one costs around 18.5 Lacs.

What i want to know is that is it a good idea to get an Aqua now? I am hearing that prices of Prius will come down due to new civic and this will also impact Aqua prices.

What do you guys suggest? Is a vitz a safer bet?

    Thanks.

I do not think that the launch of New Honda Civic will have effect on Aqua prices...

What they are saying is Civic launch will affect prius and that will affect Aqua. Like:

Civic => Newer Prius => Older Prius => Aqua

I dont know how this linkage is made.. As per me there will be no such difference.. But still civic launch is 15 days away wait and see nothing wrong in that..

But IMO there will be no change civic is double the amount of aqua hence no comparison

As per new taxes any imported car registered after 1st july will have to pay first time registration tax and I believe its 50,000 or 75,000 in your case so even if there is some price drop you will eventually end up spending same or even more money

That car was driven by a rental company in Japan .. Keeping in mind the rental companies over there are not like we have here in Pakistan ...
As they do have strict maintenance schedule .. So nothing to worry about .
By the way most dealer's cars are either highly driven or accidented ..
But with my aqua alhumdulillah i haven't faced any issues ... At least i know what i am driving ...[emoji ]

Aqua & Prius both seems best options rather buying new civic for high price and high fuel consuming machine.
better buy it now rather to wait. the rumors of price drop doesn't seem true.
Because despite many complain yet only Pakistani Corolla is giving these JDMs tough time. Otherwise JDMs would have clean sweep PK market.

Toyota Aqua is also called Toyota Prius C in other countries. Its the highest selling car in Japan these days. My only advice would be to buy from a very trusted dealer as most Japanese imports are high mileage cars especially hybrids as they are frequently used as taxis abroad. If I had 18~20 lakhs I would buy a City 1.5 Aspire. Just my opinion

Yes ... The "Bari" gari competition is there at this price point but i think its a quality vehicle. Only time will tell how much it will depreciate ... I plan to keep it for atleast 3 years.

I am also considering it but the same depreciation is confusing me too. I also plan to self import and keep it long term.

I used my cuzn links in japan .
That was quite smooth process as I told him my preferences so he use to update me the cars that are there for auction so they purchased one .
They occasionally import cars so they have links at Karachi port as well . I Just drove my car home after couple of months ..

    Consider low ground clearance.

Not required if you drive it carefully over abnormal speedbrakers .
