Default Toyota Revo Officially Launched by IMC in Pakistan

After months and months of speculations, rumors and reveals; Indus Motor Company officially launched the new Toyota Hilux Revo yesterday in Karachi. The company organised a launch event yesterday, in which the IMC (3S) dealership network was invited to the official announcement and launch ceremony for the arrival of this new Hilux Model in the Pakistani market.

An undisclosed source revealed that this new model is featuring a 3.0L Turbocharged 1KD-FTV engine. Apparently, the new model is receiving all around updates in its interior, exterior and the engine, which is good to see. The new Hilux Revo is expected to be displayed at the (IMC-3S) dealerships in the market in October-November of this year.

I believe around PKR 4.6 million. That's what I've heard - no idea if the figure is correct or not.

Plain black interior - not impressed.

Shouldn't be over Rs. 4m, if price of previous model is kept in perspective.

Competitors are bringing in alternatives at very competitive prices now - BMW X1 for example, which will surely make many of urban Pakistan customers, who want a 4x4 SUV / Truck, to think twice.

If IMC is thinking of positioning REVO at Rs 4m to Rs 4.5m range and FORTUNER at Rs. 5.5m, then it is in for some serious competition this time during the next five years and onwards. Must better and competitively priced alternatives are now (and going to be in future) available for car enthusiasts in Pakistan.

IMC already faced embarrassment when it's local Prius turned out to be a complete failure with not a single unit being sold (please correct me if I'm wrong on this). The reason was it's price-positioning.

Another embarrassment was faced earlier when it had to re-position Fortuner's price in mid-2014 after it saw lack of interest in it from potential customers and brought down it's price from Rs. 5.7m to Rs. 4.7m - an unprecedented 21% drop. Even that couldn't help push up Fortuners' sales to the level that IMC would have liked.

And with the above-mentioned price positioning for REVO and new Fortuner, it is apparent that IMC hasn't learn't from it's past mistakes.

With the BMW X1 at between Rs 4m to Rs 5m and other self-import options available to prospective customers, positioning REVO at Rs. 4-4.5m and Fortuner north of Rs. 5.5m would lead IMC towards another embarrassing situation in the near future.

after complete failures, IMC still has the same marketing team which determines the price. Why? because of some heavy parchi with those guys.

IMC doesn't care about private buyers when it comes to hilux & fortuner market as mostly cooperate and govt sector are there main customers, army buys a lot, police favorite hilux, cooperate sector fortuner.

I hope it is priced sensibly (though I still wont be able to afford one as of now). However, if duties may alter its price. As said above, IMC usually sells these to govt/army/corporate sectors and individuals are most probably only a minority of its customers. And with the end of the Defender, they have a monopoly here. There is a Foton Tunland but its not really a competition yet.

IMC wouldn't care less about its Prius sales since they do not manufacture it here. It's an imported model just as Camry or Honda Accord or Suzuki Kizashi so they don't really care because they haven't invested anything on it.

news on the hilux Toyota dealer says launch is expected November 1st week price to start from 39-43 lakhs but a inside news is all show most if it's interior dash stuff is similar to Corolla altis grande, built wise same as the old one and brakes are improved but still not as good as Thailand one, ride isn't comfortable same as the previous model no push start, nor the new gear box.
