Another interesting thing is that I have not seen a single gen 2 or gen 2.5 Mark X in Pakistan, people don't seem to import them.

It is also the same in other countries where Mark X is sold, gen 1 Mark X seems to be much more popular than gen 2 and 2.5 models...

I guess gen 1 Mark X really has that unique look about it, an aggressive droopy nose and a voluptuous back end with integrated exhaust outlets. Whereas gen 2 and 2.5 Mark X look almost 'generic'. That being said, they do have the best Toyota V6 engine in production - 2GR 3.5L engines putting out 234KW, that is 46KW more than our 3GR in 300G's!!

Agreed1st gen of mark x is certainly a masterpiece. But i think you should have a look at the facelifted model of 2 gen mark x.

Back then gen 1 Mark X must also have cost 5 to 6 million, it makes me wonder why people still chose it over Audi/BMW/Merc of the day (they clearly are not doing this now with gen 2 and 2.5 Mark X)....

Interesting, so gen 1 when new was sold at 180% the price of a new Civic, and gen 2/2.5 are sold at 250% the price of a new Civic.... hmmm... given that Mark X's price hasn't really changed in Japan, the price of Civic must have come down in Pakistan over the years, making the X less attractive of a proposition compared to the Civic or other vehicles in that class...

AOA. okay so if the sole reason to go for 16s is ride comfort if your car is a daily driver then yes but trust me 16s don't belong on a mark X, my car had 17s and even those used to look somewhat on a smaller side from some angles.

Get new tyres, front 225/50R18 and rear 245/45R18, it will be much more comfortable than the stock 225/45R18 setup and the car will actually look better as the slightly bigger tyres will properly fill up your wheel arches, giving it a more purposeful look. You will also get a few extra millimetres of ground clearance as well, not ideal for handling, but good for poor road conditions
