Find Prius fuel consumption as per JC08 standards for Prius in excellent condition below:
Fuel consumption compared with the 10 ? 15 mode and JC08 mode

2014 January I was compared for the current major models.

It should be noted that even in the same vehicle type, fuel consumption is slightly different due to differences in grade and equipment, etc.. For the correspondence grade of each model in the table refer to the item column of "corresponding car name Model grade".

Car name (link to article) 10 ? 15 mode JC08 mode Corresponding car name Model grade Models Overview
    Toyota Prius c 37.0km / L DAA-NHP10 type: Full Grade Hybrid car
Honda Fit (third generation) 36.4km / L DAA-GP5 type: FF cars "HYBRID" [8] Hybrid car
Daihatsu Miraisu 33.4km / L DBA-LA300S type: Full Grade [9] Gasoline light car (hatchback)
    Toyota Prius 38.0km / L 32.6km / L DAA-ZVW30 type: "L" [10] Hybrid car (split system) hatchback sedan
    Suzuki Arutoeko 32.0km / L 30.2km / L DBA-HA35S type: Full Grade [11] Gasoline light car (hatchback)
    Honda Insight 31.0km / L 27.2km / L DAA-ZE2 type: "G", "L" [12] Hybrid car (parallel system) sedan
    Daihatsu Move 30.0km / L 27.0km / L DBA-LA100S type: all grades of 2WD (FF) car [13] Gasoline light car (minivan)
    Mazda Demio 30.0km / L 25.0km / L DBA-DEJFS type: "13-SKYACTIV" [14] Gasoline small car (hatchback)
    Nissan Tiida 20.0km / L 18.0km / L DBA-C11 Type: "15S", "15M", "15G" [15] Gasoline small car (hatchback)
    Suzuki EVERY 17.2km / L 16.4km / L EBD-DA64V type: 2WD ? MT cars "JOIN Turbo", 4WD ? MT car [16] Gasoline light car (one box van)
    Mitsubishi ? RVR 17.0km / L 15.8km / L DBA-GA4W type: "M" 2WD "G" (FF) car [17] Gasoline ordinary vehicles (RV)
    Nissan Serena 15.4km / L 14.6km / L DBA-C26 / FC26 type: "20X", "20G" 2WD of "Highway Star" (FF) car [18] Gasoline ordinary vehicles (wagon)
    Nissan X-Trail 15.2km / L 14.2km / L LDA-DNT31 type: MT car [19] Diesel ordinary vehicles (RV)
    〃 14.2km / L 13.8km / L LDA-DNT31 type: AT car Diesel ordinary vehicles (RV)
    Honda Accord 14.4km / L 13.2km / L DBA-CU2 type: "20TL" [20] Gasoline ordinary vehicles (sedan)
Honda Odyssey 14.0km / L DBA-RC1 type: FF cars "ABSOLUTE" [21] Gasoline ordinary vehicles (minivan)
    Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X 10.8km / L 10.6km / L CBA-CZ4A type: "RS" [22] Gasoline sports car (existing car-based) sedan
    Nissan ? GT-R 8.6km / L 8.7km / L DBA-R35 Type: all grades [23] Gasoline sports car (new design) coupe

For JC08 standard, the Prius consumption is 32.6 Km/l.
You are getting is only 20 km/L, which is very less (only 61.4%) of what is required. At least you should get 85 to 90%.
Get your vehicle inspected for better fuel economy.

Why not shift to 0W30; you might find some improvement in fuel consumption.

But among all the ones we discussed (0W20, 5W20, 0W30 and 5W30), the closest to the manufacturer recommendation (0W20) is 5W20 for best fuel economy. Don't you get that grade in Liqui moly or genuine Toyota motor oil?

Nope both have 5w30 grades.. Or if there are , they arent available. My first choice was 0w20 like many owners as described in the Manual.
But i thinner oil compromises the engine's wear n tear in favour of fuel economy

Khalid, what I have read and my understanding is, please give your comments:

Once engine attains the normal operating temperature (212 F), the same temperature approximately remains for the oil as well. Hence, the logic of using higher viscosity grade oil with high ambient temperature fails here. This may be valid with air cooled engines.

Almost 90% of wear and tear takes place during start-up to achieving normal operating temperature, since the thickness of oil (viscosity) is directly proportional to the temperature therefore a thinner oil (0W20, 5W20) may flow quicker and lubricate the engine efficiently during start-up and engine warm up period which is more critical to engine wear and tear.

Ok guys i have a query about the radio antenna for my 2007 daihatsu boon.

When i bought it; the antenna thing at the back part of the roof was missing. Only the mount was there but antenna was missing. I got that FM frequency thing installed through which i could get all channels on the limited 90 japanese frequency but the reception was not good.

Went to a shop; asked them to install the antenna. What they did was remove my old setup for holding the antenna by actually breaking it. Installed their own antenna but did not connect it to the roof by a metal connecter or anything. It is basically an antenna type thing installed on a rubber kind of mount and held together via nut bolt.

When i asked them about no connection; they said this antenna is not for radio. According to them it is only for looks :s. My question is where is the antenna for this car? And if the antenna is actually what i think is the antenna then what is it connected to? The reception is still bad. Showed it to someone else and he said the reception will be like this. Nothing can be done about it and he also said that the top antenna is not connected to anything.

How does it relay the signal? I am confused please guide.

If it is there it must be for something....japanese doesnot put anything in car which is of no use... when i drop that antenna, then reception get bad and if it stands slanted then radio reception goes better...so that antenna is for radio and our people just like to say anything without knowing

once i touched ETC button and my mechanic stopped me by saying don't touch it or else your navigation will get blocked
