Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

If anyone needs a Toyota Passo or Daihatsu Boon GENUINE SMART KEY CARD or TRANSPONDER KEY programmed to the ECU with the GENUINE Toyota Diagnostic software, it can be done and I can be able to do it.

I ordered a BRAND NEW, UNUSUED, GENUINE Smart Key Remote AND Transponder Key from Japan (See the pictures for what I have ordered) for a very good friend of mine for his Toyota Passo. We are in Lahore and we were trying to find a programmer to programme the NEW Smart Key Card and the Transponder Key to the Passo, but EVERY SINGLE PROGRAMMER FAILED to do so. The ONLY solution they had was to actually programme a Physical Transponder Key, but it was a UNLOCKED, CHINESE KEY.

My friend wanted the GENUINE Smart Key Remote AND the GENUINE Transponder Key from Japan to be programmed to the car. Well, I decided that enough is enough and I was able to FINALLY get my Toyota Diagnostic Software to programme the NEW, GENUINE Smart Key AND the NEW, GENUINE Transponder Key to the car!

What is interesting is that ONLY a NEW, GENUINE and UNUSED Smart Key and Transponder Key may be programmed to to the Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon (With the Key Free System). The FAKE, USED and CHINESE REMOTES that are 100% in the market, CANNOT AND WILL NOT be able to be programmed to the car, using the factory diagnostic tools.

I was able to programme an additional NEW, GENUINE Smart Key AND NEW, GENUINE Transponder Key to the Passo, via the ECU WITHOUT having to take out the ECU, WITHOUT having to Erase the ECU (Which is what the programmers in Lahore do) and WITHOUT having to touch anything else, except the Diagnostic tools.

If anyone would like to have a NEW, GENUINE, UNUSED Key programmed to their Toyota Passo or Daihatsu Boon with the Key Free System (Smart Card Key), please let me know.

I will ONLY be able to programme a NEW, GENUINE and UNUSED Smart Card Key AND Transponder Key that is purchased from me. I WILL NOT and I repeat, I WILL NOT and CANNOT programme the CHINESE REPLICA OR ANY USED keys with the Original Toyota Diagnostic Tools.

I have attached some pictures that explain which Smart Key and Transponder Key I was able to programme.

If anyone interested, please contact me via Private Message or on my mobile phone at 0312 558 5100. I can programme the key for you and explain my pricing and information on how to get the key programmed safely, easily and WITHOUT having to take the ECU out AND I will even give a 1 year guarantee on the programming, and if there are any issues with the keys not responding to the car, I will reprogramme/reinitialize the keys to the car for free.

Each and everything on your vehicle (yes only your vehicle) is directly related to its chassis number. The size, the color and each and every bit of it. Like your parents know who FRaza is, similrarly the chassis number of your cars knows all about your vehicle, it's parts etc.

VSC: Vehicle stability control. Its prevents vehicle from rolling over when taken extra sharp turns (U-turns) where required. Provides stability to the moving vehicle and the driver can take very sharp turns at a high speed (than usual).

    Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)

Helps prevent wheels from slipping sideways when cornering or sudden steering

VSC is a system that helps prevent side skids and help stabilize the vehicle while turning on a curve. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) report, vehicles equipped with VSC compared to those without can effectively reduce single-vehicle accidents by 35% for automobiles and 67% for Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV).

When the vehicle senses a loss of traction or a slip, braking is automatically applied to all 4 individual wheels and engine power is reduced to help secure the safety of the vehicle. For example, if the steering wheel refuses to turn from over-speeding (under-steering), the vehicle will take control to steer toward the inner curve. Also, when the vehicle begins to spin from abrupt steering handling (over-steering), the vehicle will take control to steer toward the outer curve.

*VSC is designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control, and it is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Also, the system will not be able to surpass the performance of the quality of the tires.

How is passo's performance on CNG. Talking about 2006 model. Both 1.0 and 1.3. I have heard Vitz pre-2005 models are compatible with CNG

Errr, why would you even think about CNG? Firstly its pointless at the monent due to petroleum prices. Secondly even when it was cheap, annual financial calculations prove the extra money spent on maintainence of a car having CNG (such as early oil changes, ruined suspensions, visits to juggarias and filling their pockets) equals to amount spent on buying petrol at the end. And most of all "Time is Money" by which i mean wasting life in lines means wasting pointless minutes of this limited life while that same time accumulated spent in work can make you earn more. Think about it bro

I would agree with Ali. Plus, If you tend to keep the car in good healthy condition (enginewise ofcourse) I wouldnt suggest you cng at all. 1kr-fe runs pretty fun on petrol and you MIGHT feel it underpowered on CNG. Rest upto you boss.

Salam members, as you all know Summer is around the corner so it would be helpful if Experts here will share their experience with the Coolants to be used in Passo and Boon.

Also the time to check the coolant levels and water levels etc to keep their car cool and to avoid any kind of over heating engines issues.

    Thanks

I have not gone to murree, but many times to Pirsohawa on my Passo 2007 1000cc, it climbs the hills n sharp turns very normal (sitting 5 people) in it.

yesterday i gone to pir sohawa on my Passo 2011 1000cc with 4 people, it is CVT, but it also climbs very very easily, no problem at all.

It all depends on driving style, if the Car's engine/transmission is alright.
you shoud drive on S gear when climbing those hills.
and while coming back, i used B gear most of the time.

So that means passo 2011-12 model is good for hilly areas in D or S mode..
