    Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
    Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

    Currently Vibration increases so should I go to Other mechanic for 2nd opinion?
    Current mechanic is trust worthy and I saw may JDM's on his workshop and I m satisfied so need advice if anybody feels same problem/solution please share...
    Along with the solutions for vibration above, also add wheel balancing into your list of maintenance.
    Also as stated above, I hope you have replaced ALL the engine mountings.
    Don't leave a highway for a byway....

    As I had posted earlier, you should replace all the engine mounts. I suspect them also to be damaged.
    Don't leave a highway for a byway....

    Bro , This vibration mostly occurs due to denting problem!
    Else mounts are also responsible but how much old is your car?

    Dear friends. I am planning to purchase Passo 2012 fresh import from Isb/Rwp.
    Pls. Advice following,
    1- How's the car for intercity & on long route?
    2- Is it fuel efficient & what's average in city/long route?
    3- Is it comfortable?
    4- How's drive, some people say it's under power & doesn't cross 110-120.
    5- Availability of Body & Engine parts in Isb/Rwp, are they expensive?
    6- Which version to purchase keeping in mind resale & how's resale?
    7. All 1000cc passo come with same engine, is it dual vvti & how much gears it has?
    8- How's Ac in April l- November.
    9- Passo worth buying? Value for money?
    Your sincere guidance will be appreciated.

    I am using the older shape version 2007. Bought it 14,000 driven and I have now driven it to 95,000.

    If you are used to driving a bigger car then you won't be comfortable in a hatchback. But upgrading from Cultus, Alto Mehran, this car is very good. Good smooth drive. I have been to chitral, sawat, kalam on my ride.

    I drive daily from DHA2 to ISB and back. Total route 60+KM. Its very good and economical for intercity. I usually get around 15+ kmpl. I drive usually aggressively. On long routes, if you go above 120km speed, don't expect good fuel economy. If you are between 100-120, you can get somewhere between 17-20 kmpl economy.

    Its definitely not underpowered. With 5 passengers with trunk full of load, I have done 140+ on motorway. If you need more power, get 1300cc version

    Body parts are very expensive but available. Engine parts are not as expensive. If you have a trustworthy mechanic, he can get genuine parts for you from his contacts easily. Regular maintenance parts like air/oil filters are same as vitz. Driven my car from 14000 to 95000 and Alhamdulillah car has not given any engine problem so far. Car han accident in which driver side door and fender was replaced. Replaced door costed 14k

    Not sure about prices of current versions. 2007 model in Islamabad is going for around 8.5 to 9.0 lac. I bought mine in 9.5 three years ago. So you can expect to loose around a lac in 3 years.

    Its not dual vvti. Older passo has 4 speed Auto transmissions. Newer models have CVT transmission

    I have a 2012 Passo 1.0 X.

    1. Comfortable and spacious. For a hatchback it can take on any other in terms of comfort, space and performance
    2. 15-17 km/lit in city. 19-21 km/lit on highway (average speed 100 km/hr) (Mileage acheived with ECO off)
    3. Very, can seat 5 adults with ease. Good leg space aswell. Suspension is soft and tyres are narrow.
    4. I say those people need a reality check. this car is stable as a rock. Have hit 140 km/hr on numerous occasions and it glides on the road. (Yes engine sound may be an issue, but that is inherent in the 1KR-FE engine.
    5. Body parts = Available, but very expensive. Engine parts = Never required any, but shudnt be expensive as this engine is quite common now.
    6. Basic version 1.0X or 1.0X Kutzyori (dunno how to spell it). Its a hot cake if the price is right
    7. 2012 is CVT
    8. AC is chilling (I live in Khi)
    9. For 12 lacs, you have other options aswell. Depends on personal preference. I for one, love my car

    My analysis of passo in past few weeks, i came across following versions of passo (new shape)...

    1. 1.0 X (most commonly found, it is actually XL)
    Cut seats, central locking, door opening button in key, retractable side mirrors...
    2. 1.0 Yururi
    interior color is beige, Sofa seats + front bench (full) seat with arm rest, push start with remote without key, thumb sensors, back wiper
    3. 1.0 Kutsorgi
    same as Yuruir, but interior is chocolate color
    4. Hana C package
    same as yururi + chocolate interior, front projector lights, fog lamps, back LED lights, different bumper
    5. Hana plus
    same as hana c but with climate control
