Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

I used the multimeter style, while pulling out fuses and on the 8th fuse, the EFI fuse, the drain just stopped on the multimeter. I realized that was the issue, and decided to test it out. So I let the Passo sit overnight without the EFI fuse and in the morning when I put it back in, the battery had not drained and the car started normally. A point to note, everything else is working just fine. Now, I had all along suspected the throttle part of the engine to be the culprit since I used to remove the negative terminal every evening whenever I parked the car to stop the battery drain, and every time I would reconnect the terminal in the morning, their would be a clicking sound from the throttle section of the engine. So I once opened it up, but could not do much for I am not an expert, but I took pictures of what I thought was wrong. The part I am holding in the picture, what is its name btw?

Now that I have found my culprit, how do I sort the issue out? I honestly do not trust my local electricians, and I believe I can fix it myself if I get the right guidance. I am a DIY enthusiast. Any help please?
Experts like @syncview and @Xulfiqar can help you over this..

your car has the 1KR engine?

the clicking sound when you put the efi fuse back in - is that when ignition is off?

    Salam All
Have been going through this forum as recently I have purchased a Passo 2012 (imported in April 2015) .
Would like to thank Farukhz7 and other contributors as you people are doing a great job.
This forum has helped me a lot in last few weeks for so many things i.e. from locating engine number for registration to figuring out the right engine oil and stuff that I wanted to get changed.
I have two issue that I am a bit concerned about so any kind of help will be much appreciated.

First thing is when I went to the guy who has been changing the engine oil for my previous car, once i checked the box of Toyota Oil filter it was showing for "ZR" engine (meant for corolla i guess) where it was supposed to be for "KR". On asking, he gave me the same reason that you hear most of the time from these people "donon aik hi cheez hein bas printing different hai". Haven't had any problem with the car as I have driven it for like 200 Km's after this incident but I just wanted to know what he did was right or wrong?

Second issue is, while accelerating at lower gears there is a scrapping sound till the speed of 60 (precisely between 40 and 60) and this sound is not present at P or N.
Is this sound related to Transmission system? if yes what should i do?
Do all Passo's have this kind of issue or mine is a special case?

    Thanks in advance.

i have been looking for genuine Brake pads for my passo for like 2 months and on 5th February finally got them from a friend who imported them for me any how he brought two different sets and asked me to bring the installed one as a sample so that he can give me the one that fit in my car..
i did the same and when i handed over my installed break pads to him he said they are not genuine have you changed them i was in shock as this was the first time that i was going to change brake pads i said no these are the one which came with the car, he took the pads and check them in a machine which said made in taiwan non-genuine toyota part

he further said the dealers aka stealers change most of the parts with non genuine and same has been done with your brake pads thats why they got hard in just 10 months of running..

the point of telling this is that we should check each and everything before buying these JDMs from the stealers of Karachi and its better to import one directly

Guys beware of such scams and do check each and every part of the car before buying
Brother from where did you got Brake pads changed???....My passo needs new brake pads
