Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

I have Toyota Passo 2009. My Car AC started giving issue when I went to Islamabad and left my passo unplugged from batteries.

No when I came back I plugged t battery cable and started the car and then started the AC but not luck.

went to AC guy saw that inner coil as leak so I replaced it but I was not happy with the cooling. Went again yesterday and then saw that compressor was heating up so replaced that as well but still I feel that cooling is not to the Mark.

Can anyone tell me that is there anything missing which we are not looking into it

Like some sensor or something as I have changed everything except the condenser but till not good quality of Air conditioning.

    Please Help PASSO Experts .

    Thanks.

Most probably it should be the AC filter (cabin filter) if not come cool properly. If you replace it just check your gass by AC technician.

    Default Poor fuel Economy

    Hello Members,

I want to share the problem i am facing with my 2012 Toyota Passo recently bought.

The fuel mileage in city with AC or without AC is between 11-12 kmpl max . I have got checked on scanner from Toyota workshop. Everything is fine with the car. Got it tuned also. change the plug points also but there was no improvement. I don't know what is the use of ECO mode then.

    Your expert opinions are required.

    Thanks.

These modern cars doesn't requires tuning. Just engine oil change, atf change, plug change, and scaning that's it.

change your driving style, drive with soft foot it'll increase..

For tuning i mean the oil change, plug change and scanning. I drive at 3 rpm so and the eco light is mostly on during my driving. Then why i am getting such a low economy?

I am sick of this now. It is better to buy a corolla or city which will give me the same mileage with bigger engine.

    Disappointed

Check that, your car must have genuine spark plugs. Use only Total PARCO Fuels. Clean Air Filter fortnightly or every 1000 kms whichever comes first. Use only 5w-30 Engine Oils, and change every 5000 Kms. Check Air Pressure of Tyres frequently, it should be from 30 to 32 psi as per ur tyre size calculations. Use High Octane on and off with super in ratio 30:70 or 40:60. Use light foot on accelerator. On ur AC at 40 km/hr speed or above, Not less than that. Engine belt should be properly tightened. Check Wheel balancing and Alignment every 3 months. Dont apply heavy breaks. Drive wisely. U can get max 14 km/l in city with a mix of AC on. On Long route u can get 16 to 18 km/l in actual. Not more than that. Best of Luck. Dnt loose heart with a JDM.

Analysis is very viable also in city average may vary depend upon the driving areas. If it keep driving in congested roads than definitely average will come less. BT if you get 18 plus on free way than you don't have any millage issue.

Although i am not following completely the above mentioned measures but still i am taking care of every aspect. It should give me 14 atleast with the way i drive. but 11-12 is too low.

I have recently bought Passo 2012. I am unable to start it through mechanical key (though remote is working fine, but i wanted to test mechanical key to be on the safe side). The knob does not turn when i insert the mechanical key. Is there any specific method to do this which i am not applying. Can anyone help please! Thanks
