Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

    Do the following:

    1) Replace air filter with genuine Toyota air filter.
    2) Use 5W30 engine oil, API SN / ILSAC GF-5 full synthetic oil.
    3) Maintain correct tyre pressure.
    4) Carry out throttle body servicing if not done earlier.
    5) Carryout wheel alignment if car steers to one side.
    6) Get wheel bearing inspected and replace if required.
    7) Get Fuel injection nozzles cleaned. Carryout ultrasonic cleaning.
    8) Check fuel circuit for any leakages.
    9) Replace spark plugs.
    Don't leave a highway for a byway....

Sir I've given the token money for the +HANA but I couldn't pay the whole amount as tomorrow is 1st July and the bank manager requested us to leave the cash in it for one more day, I'll hopefully get the car on thursday. Till then I'm sorting other things out, Like the registration costs, detailing options etc.

Thanks Doc. Your posts on this forum were a great help for me and of course, you were the one who narrowed down this car for me. I checked the Eco icon in the meter, it was on for sometime but it turned off after driving a bit. Don't know the reason. But I didn't see a tag of ECO IDLE that comes in mira, It was present on another black boon but the car had a major impact and it was 2012. I guess there's no eco idle in this model too, as there are no signs of it on toyota passo, but i'm sure that boon comes with it.

A proof for the MMC with eco idle in Boon, but the mileage mentioned on the site is the same as of the Passo I'm buying, can't understand what good is eco idle then.

@DrUsmanNawaz bhai, you were right, the car is equipped with ECO IDLE technology, but since the name is a registered trademark of Diahatsu, Toyota uses A off option instead, it kills the engine at idling speeds. Something I find weird. Should I keep it off? Is there a benefit to drive without eco IDLE? like an improvement in performance? @huzaifa.haroon @muradi please guide.

The word ECO-Idle it self is explanatory, ECOnomy when IDLing. Which means to save fuel when car is idling. The ECO IDLE uses a seperate Battery located underneath the seat to power up the A.C and Accessories when car is IDLE i.e Waiting at a signal etc. Turning the Eco Idle off will result in more fuel consumption.

Eco idle cannot run AC... It is good for rest of the equipment.. If u turn on the AC, eco idle will not be engaged...
