Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

Easily in fact 15 is the best size for her. Any thing above 15 will ruin suspension

Sir the car comes with almost Brand new Dunlop enasave ec203 tyres. Are they good for Pakistani roads and weather? They seem comfortable to drive, atleast they're a lot better than the Euro star the came with my 'rolla.

The recommended tyre size is 165/ 65 R14 and the alloy wheels that come in 1.3 HANA and +HANA G package are also the same size, Can you tell me how can I source these tyres? Is it possible to import them, because they look really cute on Passo.

Importing is not a good option, because u have to pay the duty etc and they become very expensive, try to dig it out from the relevant market of KArachi...

U just need to get decent rims then...

Japanese rims are less in width mostly for fuel efficiency... I m not sure but i think these are 5.5 inch wide...

While local/Chinese rims are more wider, and they look broader, they are heavy, and utilize more fuel...

Hello Guyx, last month i did my AC work cause one of my friend who was sitting in my car said "yaar chilled nahi hai ac gas check kerwa" so i went to a guy near my home , i knew him cause he is near the workshop where i used to go normally so i thought he is also good in what he do.

    STORY BEHIND THE PROBLEM :

Well i went to him asked to check AC and he said okay sit and relax and then he was accelerating the car louder and louder and then was filling up the gas , cause he said "Gas kam ho gayi hai" then he changed the filter (placed in the dashboard). i dont know what worst quality filter he used but he charged me Rs-700 for that filter , i asked him that is it fine and he said "haan ji sab japanese mein lagta hai acha chalta hai beghum ho jayen"

    PROBLEM :

Now i have experienced a worst AC performance after all this work has been done , i dont know why but my AC never tripped but on slow speed it feels like the car is not taking the load of AC and also the blow is not that cold , but my main problem is the tripping like when i have to stop at Red Signals i have to stop AC otherwise the car takes much load (last season it was fine).

Can anyone tell me what should i do ? Should i go to Toyota Company again and tell them the same problem or do you guys know any real expert in RAWALPINDI ?

    Thanks in advance.

Friends always get us into troubles
The Symtoms r of Incorrect Gas Pressure and most probably Incorrect Gas putting load on the compressor causing it to Trip. Cabin Filter does not have much affect on performance as its main use is to block dirt from entering blower causing it to choke

We have Thal engineering down here in Karachi and another A/C guy that experts such as Xulfiqar and Capsat suggest. I guess you don't have another option except visiting the nearest dealership, they charge quite a bit but their work is decent. I guess they charge some what around 2k for just a thorough check-up, Whatever the problem is, they charge extra for it.

Don't worry Dr sb, the parking was totally safe, the owner of the silver passo is a dou'che, he has removed the side mirrors and drive without them, but its a real issue in Karachi, I lost in dash screen of my corolla Few months ago due to parking in the street.
