Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

Ita not just a difference of monogram and i wud prefer a boon for myself any day bcz i dont care about resale more than my personal preference of a car which is an investment of above a million rupees
    Anyways coming to the point

Daihatsu is also owned by Toyota so quality is not compromised

The main difference uptil 2014 besides the logo is that Boon is eco idle like mira es and consumer much lesser fuel

yea you may find boon few bugs cheaper, which is a great advantage.

just look for clean car, there are few good ones on pakwheels also

avoid buying from showrooms and dealers as they ask high price and have abused cars.

buy from someone directly and home used.

When i bought it; the antenna thing at the back part of the roof was missing. Only the mount was there but antenna was missing. I got that FM frequency thing installed through which i could get all channels on the limited 90 japanese frequency but the reception was not good.

Went to a shop; asked them to install the antenna. What they did was remove my old setup for holding the antenna by actually breaking it. Installed their own antenna but did not connect it to the roof by a metal connecter or anything. It is basically an antenna type thing installed on a rubber kind of mount and held together via nut bolt.

When i asked them about no connection; they said this antenna is not for radio. According to them it is only for looks :s. My question is where is the antenna for this car? And if the antenna is actually what i think is the antenna then what is it connected to? The reception is still bad. Showed it to someone else and he said the reception will be like this. Nothing can be done about it and he also said that the top antenna is not connected to anything.

How does it relay the signal? I am confused please guide.
that antenna get stolen very often, same case in vits also
bec it is very easy to un-screw and pull off.

you have to get that original antenna from sultan-ka-khu

The eco mode shifts the gear earlier hence keep the engine’s RPM down which results in less fuel consumption.
In daily stop and go traffic, or driving on highways, driving uphills/down hills, etc. will not bring any difference either you’ve turned the eco button on.
Its mainly helpful in traffics where gears shifting is high. Where driving & slowing down are repeated. Etc.

However if you keep it on all the times, its better.

i have noticed major difference in fuel consumption

when it is off, it gives me max 10km/l and when it is on it gives me 15km/l

not too much difference in driving, when i push the pedal to accelerate faster, it auto turn off.
