Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

Sorry if i misled u but I dint go there for tuning purposes... Infact I wud NEVER take a JDM to any 'tuner' or throttle body service and plugs saaf karney wala... These cars r packed... Dont open them up unless they r giving u serious trouble...

If ur car is new and is driving fine then just use gud oil, change at regular intervals and choose a good petrol station for fuel n u ll have a trouble free ride...

Is ur car giving u poor average or u just want peace of mind?.. If the latter then lemme assure u 1krFe duz not need plug cleaning or throttle body servicing... Just use genuine air filter and keep my above tips in mind...

No car is fine. I've had it for 2 years now and all I've done is changed oil and filters after every 2500-3000 km's and replaced the plugs and only today had the front disc pads replaced (all Toyota OEM parts from mehran autos). Also drive it on hobc whenever available. That's not the issue.

I was only asking in terms of future requirements as the car will definitely require mechanical work etc so is this guy good ? What all can I take the car there for? Like can I take it there for a transmission oil change ?

No I've never encountered such a light before. All I get is the cold sign when I start the car after an interval

For transmission oil change first do thorough research..( i think someone here did a fluid change on his Vitz, same gearbox so that will apply) and take it to Toyota... Pay them for labor and tell them to do exactly as u say else u ll wreak havoc.. ( worked for me in case of my aba jee's Prius)... I even made them use the torque wrench...

Other than that I think parts are available in Pindi as Kabli... These cars r strong and reliable so relax and enjoy ur car...

Oh and almost forgot Nazir autos is best known and good at Electrical issues... So if ur car is in limp mode or ur check engine light is on or ur cluster has lit up like a christmas tree when u hit a pot hole, u can go to him for ECU related issues... For mechanical he is expensive... way expensive...

    Cheers...

Gotcha!! Thanks bro. I'll keep that in mind. I've tried looking for the transmission oil thread and detail to no avail; it takes forever looking for the relevant information. If you could guide me in that regard that would be very helpful please

This light is for "Coolant Temperature Low", as as you start the car, it warms up, and this Light disappears when Coolant temperature goes to optimum level,
and If car gets heatup, then there is another light for that (you can see when you turn Ignition On, and all the lights in meter glows)

Sorry to bother you again, i had misinterpreted the Dashboard sign,

    Correction is here:

    - there are two signs, one is similar to above with "C" written, (used to show "Less/Cool Coolant Temperature")
    - second is simple above sign (used to show "High Coolant Temperature")

Both signs are in the below picture:
Toyota PassoDaihatsu Boon OwnersFan Club -1706288

When you turn On the Ignition, all lights glow airbag, etc. etc. (including that Hig Temperature sign) and then turn Off after a few seconds.
But the "C" sign remains On (as coolant temperature is not at optimum level in the morning usually)

So, in your case , what is the behaviour of the "C" sign ???

as the "High" sign should go away in 3-5 seconds, and "C" should remain On a few minutes depending on coolant temperature.

If u drive for ur car for 5 to 7 kilometers. Then Off ur Car. Again then Ignition on your car, Then this sign appears ???
If not then its normal sign, that shows your Engine coolent is cold at Morning Start. It get disappeared when the engine is getting hot while continuous running.
Never underEstimate anyone. Might be a charade has a v8 in his heart.

Brother, your car seems to be Normal, but i doubt something.
As this sign is for "High Temperature" and it glows only at Ignition time for just a few seconds only (and not for a few miinutes)

Can you please tell me your Passo model, or take a picture of whole meter.
