Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

I have heard their are some issues with JDMs due to low quality fuel available here.
You run into clogged filter and cvt issues. How are you guys dealing with it? Any such issues came across with you guys?

    Dear Gurus,
    Hope everyone is doing fine.
I own Toyota Passo 2011 model import 2014 and it was working fine since 2 years, till two days back when during oil change from my regular vendor i asked him to do tuning also. It was only later that i found out that his mechanic for tuning was a new one as the old one had left. Now the problem is that after tuning engine check light turned on when i was driving it later that day. Upon going back to him, he disconnected the terminals, the problem went away but came back again. After that he connected a computer to it and it went away again but came back again. When i was driving back home it statred blinking and i got very worried and decided to take it to authorised workshop. Today in morning i went to Toyota Township motors, they said we do not have IT support for Japanese Cars. Then i went to Toyota Walton Motors, they connected several computers and finally succeeded in connecting. The guy said that there was misfire in engine in cylinder (middle one). He switched this one with the first one, after which the light went away, and i came to office and the light did not come up again. I just want to ask is it enough what he did? I am very concerned about my car as i always take extra care of it. It was a big mistake to get it tuned by local mechanic. Did any of passo owners also encounter same issue? I thought he did not fit the throttle body back correctly or broke any of sensors. Shall I get it rechecked again? How to know if the problem has completely resolved?
Thank you in advance for answers.

Brother exactly, this was the biggest mistake perhaps, as i did not know these cars actually do not need any tuning. He cleaned the spark plugs and opened throttle body and cleaned it.

    Hi,
When ever Engine check light Blink always Scan car from 0BDII Scanner it will give you the Error code means which Sensor is causing problem when your Mechanic Disconnected the battery terminal it Restarted the ECU Which is Responsible for Senors but since the error was still there it came back and your car might be Jerking or causing issues. Always take the car to OBDII Scanner if the problem OF Electric appears in these cars..

    Regards,
    Maaz

Spark plugs are replaced, not cleaned. We are in year 2016 not 1980's.

Never clean throttle body unless required.

Please confirm air pressure for tires
I recently bought 2013 Passo and sticker on the door says pressure should be 240kpa which equals 34psi and normally we keep pressure 30 psi.
So whats recommended? 34psi or 30 psi? Name: 1477240764887.jpg

I've read over Internet that mentioned value is usually tha maximum allowable value. So it's better to keep under 34psi.
