Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

Passo manual emailed brother. Congrats for getting this beauty.
As regards its capability is concerned, yes it will travel flawlessly. It all depends on condition of car. When people can teavel on mehran, then it is far better car

well it says with an asterisk that "capacity is a reference value. when replacement is required, please contact the Toyota dealer".

i dont think it would take more than 4 litres of transmission oil.

and my other questions are still unanswered. i once read a thread where there was mentioned a specific procedure for changing its transmission oil. i want to know that. anyone?

2007 model is simple AT, not CVT. i think cvt came in 2010 model.
Model code is kgc10. Here is the model wise specification link.

    Hello Guys!

I've been reading this thread and was deciding between Passo/Vitz/Belta. I am facing similar situation as most of you have faced so thought i should take advises of FORUMERS.

I love Vitz but am worried low ground clearence (dont want to use spacers, used it in my vitz 2001 and it ruined driving experience) After having trunk space filled with stuff and car with 4 to 5 persons, vitz hits ground on uneven roads and jumpers mostly.

What about ground clearance of PASSO?
Also i heard you can fold its rear seats, is that true?
What fuel average you are getting in urban area with traffic? with ac and w/o ac.

***If its 12-13km/ltr then why any dont prefer Honda City 1.3 iDSI came in same price, salon car, parts are easily available and gives same avg?***

    I'd appreciate advises.

    Regards,
    Swades

1.Ground clearance of PASSO & VITZ is almost the same. But if you use 14" tire then it will probably offer more ground clearance. No need of spacers. I am using my car with 13" OEM tires, and have driven with 3 ppl in back seat plus some stuff in trunk, It didn't gave me such low ground clearance issue. But on big bumps, you have to be careful and cross breakers with angle......2. Yes its rear seats are fold able.3. Average in Urban i.e. City is 15KM/L without AC & 13KM/L with AC. On long route, it is giving me around 18 to 20KM/L. (but it all depends upon your driving style, with light foot you will definitely get good average).............

Engineer1 has already clarified all ur questions. Well as far as preference over city is concerned, 2007 model clean city is very hard to find, further it is driven on Pakistani roads, and every car in pakistan needs almost majority of parts replacement after 5 years. But these cars even 100 k driven on japanese roads are far better.
