Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

Another guy bought a zero meter cultus from authorized dealer in lahore and when he was driving back the car to his home in gujranwala, he noticed that headlights are not aligned. Next morning, he showed it to mechanic only to find that original headlights were replaced with 2 number china lights.

And when I went to take delivery of my boon from truck adda, I noticed few locally assembled zero meter cars badly damaged during transportation. One mehran's driver side pillar collapsed. A corolla's diggy smashed. I don't think authorised dealer will replace the cars to the purchaser.

So even there is no surety that zero meter locally assembled cars are zero meter or unaccidented.

haha stories stoires, So its simply better either buy a car eyes closed, or avoid meter reading and body, simply see if it drives well get it

@raza bhae, Yes your right about the dealers stamping everything, But its like apnei ghar ki gari type, Roof dents and dings and dangs dont matter honestly. But a major accidencted car and that too expencive is not right, I know cars repaired in Japan are better repaired close to new, But they should atleast be priced resonably.

Im going to show the City to my family or else theirs a silver passo 4.5 grade, grey interior (very rare) HIDs that car come in to my budget if i extend another 20-30k.

But a 900k Passo im not sure about it Since my initial budget was 6.50 lacks, Im just going up and up, So i guess i need to limit my self to 8 and 8.25. Or else im just going up nd up.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

About the japan car maintainence thing, its like when you purchase a new car you get a 3 year waiver after that you need to spend about 100k to 150k Japanese Yen on ur cars maintainence renewal. With out that you cannot drive, And then this is valid for another 2 years. and so on.

Thats why Japanese cars are in best possible condition. any tuk tuk you cannot drive it unless you get it fixed.

Since its under 1000cc, yearly tax would be 1000rs. And withholding tax 75% is around 750 so total 1750. 10yr old registrd cars are exepmtd from witholding tax

This is the correct figure for all cars upto 1000cc, Btw you dont need an agent to do this, Simply go a week or two before its due you find an empty line or take a female member of your family (female lines are mostly empty) and it can be paid in less then 5 mins. Just take the registration book along.

Just check if your nearest NBP branch takes token tax payments.

You can pay it at Denso hall branch, Ph2 branch, SITE (habib bank Chowrangi branch) rest im not sure about. and yes the excise office too.

Update of my passo: Today I went for tuning of my passo. Throttle cleaning, ultrasonic injector cleaning and testing, plugs cleaning, new air filter. Total cost: 2430/- rupees.
Now drive has become light. Heaviness gone. Alhamdulillah
