Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

I am also facing the same situation but I guess its because of dirt and mud after rain that clog the ABD sensor. It will disappear in due course.

Dear Yasir, ABS light , if turn ON, means there is ABS abnormality which is not a usual fault as in cars ....check your brakes , apply a quick/hard one and listen to the sound when ABS comes into play (hope u have experieced it before)....if its ok then check the brake oil level...if that is also ok then you should visit TOYOTA MOTORS and let them examine your ride....
Hope everything is fine with your car....do inform us about it

thank u brothers for ur timely reply, brakes are in normal working conditions, but ABS isnt working and as per my little knowledge if the ABS light turns ON then ABS function shuts off, so last night when i applied quick / hard brakes i didnt hear that different sound of ABS, brake oil level is OK, i think i should visit the Toyota Dealership, i will inform u all accordingly

2.) i feel a little knocking sound from the engine. i didnot let anyone touch the engine of the car as i am getting excellent milage and i am afraid if i ask any mechanic to tune my engine, my fuel efficiency will b gone. is there any other solution?

3.) i guess my car is Non-cvt. i want to change the transmission oil. which transmission oil is best. and any specific procedure for changing it.

    I am thankful in advance.
my questions are still not answered...anyone?

Welcome brother. There is not much difference between the two, as mechanically both the shapes are same.

Gear shift delay is normal. If you were previously using manual car, then u will feel it more. However u can increase or decrease the shift intervals through accelerator. Check OD button as well, over drive should remain on.

For knocking, just try to use petrol from different pumps, or you can use hi octane with 75-25 mix.

Transmission oil of toyota is best, get it changed from 3S or reliable mechanic.

Yes. The panel is high priced just bcaz everyone wants that panel, due to liberty of changing it to any player of his choice.

My friend also bought the same panel which u have bought, but in low price. While searhing for same he found the same cd player which u r selling, i ll not tell u the price, aap ka dil toot jaye ga.

My collegue's vitz ECU got reset unfortunately after he removed his battery for a longer period. I want to know if you know someone reliable that can scan his car's ECU using computer and then reprogram or whatever necessary. He lives in your area near tariq road so I thought you would be the best guy to ask for help!! Waiting for ur postive reply RAZA BHAI

Ask him to visit Time Motors, near united king / meat one. On national college roundabout. Naeem ustaad / saleem ullah will be there. They are bit expensive comparatively but reliable.
