Default Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and share views regarding Daihatsu boon/Toyota passo and to provide a common platform for the owners and potential buyers to discuss the car.
Passo/Boon has become quite popular in the last 2 or 3 months. People are getting curious to know about this car which offers better features than the overpriced 1000cc vitz in a better price tag. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. Realistic advices on prices regarding the condition and model of car will be provided.

Here are the pictures. (sorry about the poor image quality).Toyota PassoDaihatsu Boon OwnersFan Club -1285388 This was the old oil the car was being driven on since it has been brought. I had thrown away the old oil filter as it was too black as it was filled with the old oil so couldn't take the picture.

Now the problem after changing the Engine oil + Oil filter + air filter is that, when the car is off and i put the key and give a single switch the car's steering gets unlocked (all normal), then in the second switch the car shows meter lights as shown in the picture (which is all normal) but it shows the yellow sign (which is i think engine oil sign) and the red sign (which is i think engine oil leakage sign). these two signs along with all other signs goes away when the car's engine starts in the third switch, I actually don't remember if this was the behavior of the meter lights even before changing the engine oil+oil filter+air filter so please anybody tell me if this is normal or the car is actually showing these 2 signs because somethings wrong after changing the engine oil+oil filter+air filter. @Raza1 and @us000 your help will be appreciated along with all other expert brothers. P.S: this picture of meter was taken when the key was given Second switch, so this meter lights are representing Second switch behaviour.
This is NORMAL. just to check that the lights are working. Only if the lights keep lighting up or blinking or Passo makes to-to warning sounds after engine start, should you start worrying.

the all lights which glow on the second switch (ON), the Car ECU is doing self diagnostics test,
but after you start your car, all lights went off in a few seconds. this behaviour is all Normal.

    position of ignition switch:
    1- Lock
2- ACC (only Accessories will turn on like audio player)
3- ON (all equipment turns on like ECU, 12V socket, etc.)
    4- Start

Salaam people. I am planning to buy a Toyota Passo this week, all I want to know is its fuel average as I want to buy it for university use and my daily drive will be around 60kms. You recommend me other cars as I want a fuel efficient car.

Guys, I am currently looking for Suzuki Mehran as a second car so I found one which is 2004 model and totally genuine in and out, original number plates and return file but the car was stolen for one day and IT WAS REPORTED IN A POLICE STATION SO THERE'S A REPORT BUT NO F.I.R, so is it worth buying the car? would this have as much affect as if there was F.I.R against the lost car? I know i'm posting in a wrong thread but I find you guys very helping and responsive so that's why i need to know asap if i should buy it. thanks in advance.

    Its Dot 3 by recommendation.

But now already Dot 4 is in the market which is the superior version of Dot 3.
    So better use Dot 4.

dot 4 may not be available with Toyota. you can try to find it for Liqui Moly. Price is approx. 450 / small bottle.

Can also read Brake Fluid on Wikipedia as well.

    Assalam o Allikum

I guess ill be the newest member to this group by monday. I just wanted to share my deal if i was getting it right or being over charged... I just Paid token money for a 2010 Passo (New Shape) Import October 2013. Smart Key/climate control option. The deal was fixed at 11,50,000/-. Auction sheet available, Grade 4B. ODO reading 25000, silver in color

Is this a fair deal? This is my first car after 6 years of absolute fun with my Cuore that i will be selling soon. So i wasnt sure if i was getting the right price. I did search the market and on an average Passo 2010 in Islamabad was around 1120 - 1140. But none of them had climate control..

    Thanks in advance
