    Default Passo hiting speadbreakers

i am a novoice when it comes to car thing, i just bought toyota passo but thing is it's body touching ground on some spead breakers (ugly ones)even when only me is driving , and when 2-3 ppl sit its touching ground on most heavy bumps (middle of car area beneath the doors)

i have read here that spacer , springs etc the techie terms

i want a solution to raise the car for Karachi roads but don't want the jump comfort to be effected

what u guys recommend, get alloy rims with big tyre , will that do the magic , if yes what size is best suited and approxx cost

or you guys recommend some other thing, pls advice me the best possible option so that i can drive tention free even with 2-3 ppl sitting in back

thanks in advance for the help coming my way

    regards

man my frnd owns BELTA he put the spacer in the car but sill touch the ground... mostly JDM cars touch the ground because of soft suspension well i dont think you completely get rid of it.

Zig zag crawl over speed breakers will do the trick.

All these JDM cars are standard cars meant to be driven on proper city roads, in our country most of speed breakers are improperly built / broken after traffic load thats why causing these problems.

Whatever you do with your car, it will make your car uncomfortable.

Everyday I pass through a speedbreaker where my car is bound to hit, not car's fault. After some days I learnt to pass the car from a position slightly left from normal passage and hitting problem avoided.

get your car raised ... upto 3-4 inches will do the trick.
bigger size tyres will only load your engine, eat up more fuel and negatively effect your power steering + transmission.

it wont cost you more than PKR 2,500 from a reputed specialist

forgot to mention that raising your car will not compromise comfort level. new set of tyres and alloys will cost you around 25-30k minimum.

while zigzag crawls help minimize chances of a hit, they are not always possible and are pretty risky too considering the way traffic runs on pak roads

Not all cars touch, depends on driving technique.

Zigzag over bumps, go real slow, it wont damage, just a kiss to the breaker.

If you're still not satisfied, take alternate routes, that's what I do with my Civic which is on Coilovers

yes...raising up should eliminate most if not all hit issues without changing anything else.
assuming suspension is fine, they will only insert packing / spacers but you must tell them how many inches do you need to lift up by.

a handy tip: pass huge breakers at lowest possible speeds.

I will have to disagree with you here, raising a car using spacers affects the Comfort level at a very noticeable level, let aside the harm it will cause to the suspension and that too in a Compact car like Passo.

Raising a car 3-4 Inches?! That's suspension murder.

^^disagreement is your right - but each act is relative. put all factors (khi roads, unlevelled, stony, potholes, patches, uneven breakers etc) into the equation and you will conclude that these factors are far too strong than 'rise' in discomfort level spacers could possibly cause.

murder? how about CNG and petrol quality in pk.. is that not a murder of engine itself?

mind you in pk ppl don't mind murdering real humans by removing CAT converters and here we are talking about suspension murder.

That depends on who you're talking about Sir.

Petrol Quality and removing Catalytic Converters, well that's a whole other issue.

But yes my point is just that raising the car does affect the suspension and ride quality.
If that's not a problem and speed breakers are more of a priority, then sure Spacers are available everywhere

I never had much problems with my car which is 2 inches lower than it's Factory Height and on Coilovers
But yes that depends on what area you're in and the condition of the roads in that area.

Don't get spacers! You'll end up ruining your suspension, I mean raising the initial (factory set) ground clearance by 3-4 inches is a big deal. Your suspension as a whole will all go out of whack.

@rohaansaeed is absolutely correct, go over speed breakers as diagonally and as slow as possible.

Well first of all check your suspension mostly cars meter are reversed so shocks are completely worn out. Secondly best way is to cross the speed breaker slowly and zig zag.

If you will raise your car it will harm you. Suspension will wear out early secondly it will affect comfort and handling.
