Default Electrical problems in Passo: need help

Tonight I kept my 2006 passo idling for about 20 minutes with AC on. When I drove for about a kilometer afterwards, most of the electrically powered accessories started to behave intermittently; ABS, EPS, Overdrive and voltage lights started to flicker ON and OFF, steering became hard and brake pedal became hard and sluggish. The tv/nav Unit's screen also started coming on and going off in short intervals.

I stopped the car, switched it off and when tried to restart, it won't budge. The battery had completely drained. I had to tow-start the car's engine. I drove all 6 km to my home with headlights and AC off, however, when i switched off the engine and tried to restart again thinking that the battery would be charged now, it again did not start. Did not even take self.

I again tow-started and this time noticed an abnormal purring sort of sound. So, does this mean my car's alternator / generator is misbehaving or is the battery dead??

I am located in karachi. Would really appreciate guidance and advice. Can someone please point me to a good electrician? I live at PAF Base Faisal.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your valuable inputs. I just hope things are not too messed up or too heavy on the pocket.

Get it diagnosed from any good electrician near your area. 3S will charge you alot. but if money is not an issue then definitely goto 3s.

Toyota Central Motors, which is the closest to my house, gave me appointment for tomorrow (friday). Meanwhile, I checked voltage of the generator with a multimeter and found out that at idle RPM it was dropping from 12.9v to 12.3v. At higher RPM it was perfect 14.0v.

What worries me however, is the fact that at idle RPM I can distinctly hear an abnormal sound coming from the generator. It vanishes when I rev the engine. So generator is definitely the culprit here.
