These pictures were taken last evening from my mobile while driving home and this morning while one the way to office.
Hope it will raise many interesting questions. Lets see.

The oils which are being used are

    Gear OIL
TOYOTA CVT FLUID TC, 4L, Transmission Fluid, Code No: 08886-02105, Made in Japan.

    Engine OIL

    aoa,

what you are reporting is instantaneous milage, you should reset and then select average km/l.
the figure you get after 2~3 days should be the actual milage.

too many pics... a video should have been better...

and Yes, an average km/l would be the right parameter to discuss here for a cvt passo...

If I am not mistaken, your Passo has normal AT and not CVT transmission... If that is the case, you changed the oil with an incorrect one.

Dear meter is not wrong if u check avg mileage after few days that is accurate. the one u are displaying it is current mileage means once its descending it will give u 99 km/l as engine dont use much fuel once car running on momentum. likewise meter shows even 4km/l once u are going uphill.
so avg mileage reading is approximately correct

    Hope got the point????

Nothing is wrong with your speedometer, its fine..

Your speedometer is showing Instantaneous Fuel Mileage.. Which is of that very moment.
Try flooring the car and you'll see that it will go something around 5-8Km/L and when you'll be braking(Slowing down) it will go to 99.9Km/L. It is just to give you a rough idea about the your style of driving and what kind of mileage would you get by driving that way.

Actual thing is the Average Fuel Mileage. That is whats going to tell you the actual mileage of your car, that how many Km's does it cover in a litre. Ofcourse, it's computerized so chances of errors are always there. If your car does 12Km/L actually.. most probably your Average Fuel Mileage will be 12Km/L ? 1.

    Dear All,

I really like the comments of your all and it make me laugh a lot early in the morning. Really !!

Well, Samialvi's observation is totally perfect. Yes, these are instantaneous fuel mileage that changes every second.

In my many previous posts I've already mentioned The average mileage of my Passo is
    14 KM/L within City
17 KM/L on Motorway with 110~120 KM speed
20 KM/L on Motorway with 80~90 KM speed

Within city average will increase further in Winter when A/C will be turned off.
Also, am using 185/65/14 Tires. If I use 165/65/14, then this fuel consumption will be less even further.

The bottom line is, Japanese Cars are very much fuel efficient but if driven with "soft foot" (means don't push the accelerator hard for instant acceleration).

    All the best !!

    Brother,
Yes, my Passo's engine is CVT and am using fully synthetic gear oil (as already mentioned above).
    The Model is 2008.
When bought it was driven 53K and i've experience to drive it 10K this year.
Using Synthetic Oils it always gives best mileage.
And also when I do the tank fill, then first I fill it with 1/4 with Hi-Octane and 3/4 with Petrol.
It gives nice feeling when you drive it and enjoy its leisure.
After two weeks, I will post a picture of the average fuel consumption from the last re-fill. (Today it was showing 14.6 Km/L) Hope it will be attractive for many people here.
    Cheers !!
