Default Here are recommended oils for 1KR-FE & 1NR-FE

Firstly a big thank to the gentleman who sent me complete manual of Toyota Passo by email. Am really thank full to him.

Here is what they recommend in the manual.

    1KR-FE (1000 CC engine) 0W-20
    1NR-FE (1300 CC engine) 5W-30

They repeatedly mentioned in the manual that for "BEST FUEL CONSUMPTION" feed 1KR-FE with 0/20 oil. it will give the best mileage.

I know hundreds of Vitz are out there and people are pouring 20/50 oil and changing after 3K.
Moreover I've checked with LM's head office in Germany and here is the min. & max. range of the oils we can feed to 1KR-FE.

    Minimum 0W-20
    Maximum 5W-40

These cars will ideally work in above oil range.
So technically these engines will "not work ideally" if we will feed them 10/30, 10/40, 15/40, 20/50 etc. oils.

Presently Kixx G1 (Tin pack) is 0/20. Price 2800/4L. SCI is 5~6K. Just forget either its summer or winter, if you want to save on fuel consumption, then 0/20 is the best choice.

If anyone need the manual, write your email here. Its 8MB file and I'll send once to all.
    No Guts, No Glory.

Finally wot i have derived is:

    Summers: 5W 30

    Winters: 0W 20
    That?s good.

But 0w-20 is difficult to get here in Pak.
Better to use ZIC A+ instead because its5w-20 and technically its specs are nearly same like 0w-20.

Oil manufacturing date doesn’t matter much.
The meter starts from the day you put it into your car.

English manual of 1KR-FE already emailed.

Okay, so I guess the oil is good for another 1000 km the oil colour is brownish red. Which oil do you suggest for the first oil change??

    Thanks for the Bro!

Edit: the oil came filled by Toyota Japan in oct 2014, that's like 8 months ago, is it still useable or has it expired?

i don't think oil can be expired, but on the safe side go for Zic A+ and use branded Toyota oil filter with it...

Are the oil filters available at Toyota dealerships? Can you suggest me an engine oil with the similar grade but of a better brand, Like kixx or Mobil1? I've heard they're really awesome brands.

Air filter is clean, Just checked it yesterday.

If so, then for the better engine health, change its engine oil and transmission oil both & asap. Because no one know how much car is driven actually and when the last oil was changed.

ZIC A+ 5w-20 and fully synthetic oil. What else you need? Dont go for imported & expensive oils like Kixx, LM, Mobil, etc. I have already done many experiments with my car but at the end I found that Pak. oils are good and expensive oils are nothing any special.

If your car is CVT then use CVT oil.
If its AT, then use ATF.

Many people still don’t know about the correct transmission oils for their cars.

Sir the car is verified 1450km, I've verified the auction sheet, the car was auctioned in february, the manufacturing date is 27/10/2014 and it has been standing at a known persons showroom since 2nd April, there are no doubts about the mileage, the auction sheet has 1380km mileage on it. Do you still think it's okay to change the original fuels with locally available oils? @DrUsmanNawaz what do you say on this? I'll just change the engine oil to the recommended Zic A+ 5w-20. @muradi are the Zic products available at Hyperstar original? or you have another better place to buy engine oils from?

If you are so confirmed about its manufacturing and confident about its mileage. Then you should not change the oils.
Drive it upto 5~6K min. and then change the engine oil only.

Life of Transmission oil is 50K min.
