From the write up "Do get one thing straight, putting in extra wide tires in hilariously under powered vehicles like the locally available ones and specially the “economical passenger car” thought of as a “sports car” i.e. the civic; does not make them look cool! It is unwise to start from and only leads to you paying more for the tires in the beginning and bad fuel average in the longer run apart from other increased maintenance costs and terrible lack of comfort. So stick to the proper size and reap the benefits that the car has to offer as per its intended function instead of sacrificing on them for some assumed ricer advantages"

I have a 1.8 manual nissan (twice the torque then a passo, same weight, bigger dimensions) running on 185's which brakes flawlessly (again as an example, to make understanding the issue easier), so the concept of this dinky facing "braking problems" on the size at which the engineers who made it thought 155's would do great is kinda hilarious to say the least.

I wrote down the disadvantages just a page back, lemme copy them again for your ease :-)

Disadvantages of wider tires, specially in this one.

Reduced fuel average (In a car meant to give exceptional economy)
Reduced acceleration (In a car this is extremely sluggish already)
Screwed steering geometry (Not that its too sharp as stock)
Greater stress on suspension (Not gonna get the same feeling after its redone even with claimed original parts)

    Advantages:

Better road clearance (Since we have car braking humps all around out roads)
Yo look (Look how cool my econo box looks)
Psychological benefits in handling (Any track lap times to gauge them for a passenger vehicle)

In short...... why u do this :-/

U might wanna read this also, just in case you are looking to understand the issue. Otherwise if you are hell bent on sticking to over sized tires in small rides, you are not alone. Enjoy

Tire Rights in Pakistan; a guide for buying the appropriate rubber - PakWheels Blog

About checking the braking effectiveness (interesting term), i have been checking them on same rides after swapping sets of rubber pretty often. Have you ?
You have good knowledge but cannot understand one thing yet and that is:
Changed conditions can change the prioties as well.
I have not choose wider tires for the reasons you are beating again and again. I did it to get extra road clearance as the road i travel daily has number of speed breakers. The problem solved up to 75 %. Regarding fuel economy, i least bother about it for the reasons I don't want to disclose it to person like you.
Do you know how many advantages Passo has over Civic? What your knowledge says about it ?

Advantages are not assumed, rather were experienced and are written by you as well. See those advantages written by you again.
In this discussion we should stick to Passo car only. Comparing it with civic or nissan of 1.8 L can't help out.
I have experienced brake efficiency on both tire sizes 155/80 and 185/70 and found 185/70 much better than the narrow tires. What your experience tells about it?
