    AC Compressor

Vitz has bigger AC Compressor, So it performs better than Passo. as AC Compressor pics Shared by @Nabeel_Ali Bhi...

Passo's AC compressor is smaller and somewhat similar/same as Mira ES...

So Vitz AC is powerful, may be it require more energy aswell

    JDM Time Passo 2012 -1725931

    JDM Time Passo 2012 -1725935

    CVT GEAR BOX

Now Coming on to CVT GEAR BOX
    ...
VITZ has bigger Gear Box with better Gear Ratios. Its design is definitely different than Passo's CVT Gear Box, As Passo has CVT Dipstick and Vitz doesn't have one...

On the other hand, Passo's Gear Box is same/similar to Mira as shown by Gear Ratios in Pic...

Result: Vitz Perform better with big gear (better gear ratio) box and 1kr engine than Passo with smaller gear box and 1kr

If u drive Vitz on motorway, it can go upto 160-170 km/h... but Passo can reach 120-130 km/hr, after that it will struggle to reach 140 or above... 160-170 is not possible in passo

On these aspects Vitz should have better pick aswell
    ...

    Weight

Also weight difference.. Passo 910 Kg Vitz 970 kg

    ...

    Conclusion:

Passo is made for Economy and Mediocre Performance

Vitz is Powerful yet Economical (but a bit less than Passo)
I have tested Passo on M2 upto 160km/h and it was smooth luckily. Till 140 or 150 I knew the speed and then it went 160 easily Just wanted to highlight that it can go upto 160km/h. I used to have problems going 120+ due to vibration in steering wheel and especially @ 140 but after wheel balancing its very smooth. Tried 160+ and that was a bit tough, had to get slow due to traffic :/

I tried till 130 ut went easily but car bubbles a little bit. I think its because of wheel balancing as I had alignment recently. What u say?

    @DrUsmanNawaz and other senior friends,

Yesterday I got to travel from Rawalpindi-Gujranwala-Rawalpindi in an order to attend the funeral ceremony on an uncle at GRW.
During this quick traveling of less than 12 hrs, I observed following issues:

    1. I had to press hard brake twice and both times I noted a severe noise (like ghoooon) which I assume to be from brake drums! It was my observation on G.T Road while coming back to RWP at night (around 23:30 HRS). Is this had to do anything with the Wheel Alignment / Balancing / Brake Adjustment etc.? (Asking because I have never got it done since a long time ago)

    2. When I try to accelerate the car and it is being accelerated slowly gradually, then till the speed of 40-45 KM/H, there is a rattling type sound which comes from engine. (I assume it is of engine belt) But the main thing is this problem persist as long as the engine is not well warmed up. The sound vanishes after the traveling of 8-10 MIN. (Earlier in Summer - I never noticed anything like this)

    3. Two-Three times, I experienced jerks which is identical to the one which we get if we don't manage to release clutch adequately in the Manual car. (Is car needs CVT servicing?)

    4. With 5 people on board the car has to struggle after 100-110. Is it normal? While with A/C on, car took 10-12 seconds to reach at 100+ speed. (I got the tank fulled from Attock Petrol Pump on the GT Road near Rawat)

    - I completely used HOBC throughout.
    - Engine Oil was Caltex Havoline 10W30. (Previously car was being running on ZIC but last time Auto Club I-10 guys poured Caltex Havoline due to their own scientific reasons. This time I will use LM 5w30 as advised by Usman bhai and other friends earlier in this thread.)
    - I checked CVT Oil a few days ago and it wasn't black apparently.
    - Engine Tune Up was done nearly 4500 KM ago on August 29, 2016 when I also got the CAT Serviced, Throttle Body Cleaned, Engine Oil Changed, 4 Brake Wheels Serviced, Air Filter changed, Engine Oil filter changed). I am planning to go for engine tune up and other same stuff right after another 500 KM.

Suggestions from all of you is requested!
    Thanks in advance.

    Walaikum Salam

Bro it is different than that of ABS engagement sound!

2ndly, Car is currently 87,500 KM and model was late 2010.

    - Pic attached above is of Sep 2016 when I got it detailed after acquiring it from a family member.

The get your brake pads and drum serviced...pads may be needing replacement...

At 87k, your 2nd CVT oil change is due... CVT oil change interval @ 40k then 80k...

Bad Petrol can be the cause of the jerks u experienced...

Engine sound needs to be sorted out...

    Alright bro!
Will visit Toyota Capital now asap...as I am not feeling good with Auto Club.

If anyone else find anything with respect to the engine sound then please do share their valuable opinion.

the problem with the older models of passo's is
no one cared or bothered about auction sheets back then
maybe your car is driven twice in real then whats displayed on odo

    anyways check brake pads
it might be engine knocking as engine had load of 5 adults and AC
when did you last check CVT oil and change it
how is the 0-100 acceleration of the car without load ?
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

Bro The car was imported at the E.O.Y 2013 and registered in 2014. It remained in family's supervision/custody and no tempering in odo took place at least here in PAK.

The 0-100 acceleration is very good.. i never felt any issue at all whether with or without A/C.
I checked CVT oil a few days ago and apparently it seems to be light pink in color.

Currently i am using DUNLOP 185/65/14 size in my passo. The change of tyres is due now. Tyrepoint.pk has launched the stock size of passo i.e 165/70/14.
Is it advisable to go back to stock size or stick to 185/65/14??

Is it advisable to go back to stock size or stick to 185/65/14??

May be, I had issue with steering wheel in form of vibration at 110+ so got wheel balancing done and now its very smooth even at high speed.

Usman bhai where did you buy these brakes from ? I went to toyota rawal and they quoted me 9500 rupees with labor for front disc brake pads replacement.

Also I am looking for transmission chamber rubber sealing. CVT oil servicing is due but I am looking for chamber seal first. Even the guys at toyota rawal said that they apply silicone whenever they replace the cvt/ automatic transmission oil on vitz and passo.

    @DrUsmanNawaz

I have ordered the CVT pan gasket (chamber jane) from a shop in azhar shaheed market. It will be shipped from Karachi and I will get it delivered on Saturday. The exact part no is 35168-B2020. I inquired Hamza Younis, Imran autos, Ejaz Autos, etc. for the exact gasket but either they had Vitz's (2010 plus models) gasket or suggested me to go for silicone - which I am reluctant to opt for.

Lets wait till Saturday. If I get the exact match, then I will guide others to the same shop.
