problem: today i had to drive on petrol and the car was hardly picking up any speed.
symptoms: hesitation on throttle >30% - hesitation increases as i push the throttle more.
provisional diagnosis: fuel delivery problems.
medication: gained access to fuel pump from beneath back seat. Discovered that the filter bag on the fuel pump was all soiled up. took it out (for like the umpteenth time).
Here i decided i'd had enough of cleaning that filter again and again - so i removed that dirtbag of a filter completely. yes my fuel pump may die, but it was about to anyways...
R.I.P dirtbag!
Results: as soon as i plugged everything back together, there was a no-start situation. Ecu putting out too rich mixture!.....floored the gas, voila!
and yes its running very smooth with a lotta power (revving in neutral). lol.
Tomorrow I test drive it and keep my fingers crossed till then.......
any permanent solutions chaps?
