I count myself among the jahils :).
The parts in bold are the main points.
In simple words, there are two hidden driving modes in the Prius. Hypermilers call them "SHM (Super Highway Mode)", and "Warp Stealth".
SHM:
*Note: just for the sake of this mode, a scangauge/ultragauge/torque app is highly worth it.
On the scangauge/ultragauge/ Torque app, hold the IGN reading between 13-15. You can hold between 26-38 kml depending on your speed; the higher, the better. Usually, this mode works up to 100 km/h. Even A/C use won't reduce this too much, but it might limit your top speed in SHM.
Warp Stealth:
As you know, the all electric mode doesn't work above 65 km/h. There is a work around. On the device, hold exactly TPS 14. The engine will stop using fuel, but there will be no engine braking. Vary your speed between 65 and 90; accelerate at 18 TPS, glide at 14 TPS. (Just like like a standard pulse and glide, but at higher speeds than 65 km/h). You can even use A/C during acceleration; it will have minimal impact on the fuel economy.
Wish I had a Prius and a Scangauge; its almost unbearable, knowing these techniques but not having the tools to apply them :(.
