Around 12 Litres, make sure to use vacuum refill while refilling coolant. Otherwise air bubbles can blow off your inverter at worst scenario. Toyota Coolant will cost you around Rs.3600-4000/ 4 Litre can.

Grade 50 is too heavy for Hybrid. Ow 20 is recommended in manual, you can use max 5w 30 for optimal performance in summers if you do lot of Highway Driving. Liqui Moly brand is recommended.

Any body who knows some experienced guy for Prius in Karachi?
Bro you can replace the pump yourself it's mounted front left corner of the inverter just behind the head light, juts loosen the inverter the u can unmount it's three bolts. Secondly you can unscrew the corner of the bumper, the unscrew the head light in this way you don't need loosen the inverter.

My Prius 1.5 not giving good fuel consumption.
    Model:2010
    Current mileage:92000km
    Bought it at 86000km.
Changed it's Engine oil to Shell 5W-30 synthetic,Original Toyota Oil Filter,Original Toyota Cabin Air Filter,Leppon Engine Air Filter.
This maintenance was done at 90000km.
The mileage I am getting currently is max 15km/l with tire pressure okay .
Car is total jenuine and was imported and maintained by my friend.
Please suggest me how can I improve the mileage to 25km/l.
What maintenace needs to be done further and from where can I get it done in Karachi reliably?

Have you noticed your petrol engine starting more often? if so there is a possibility your EV motor inverter (alternate for the water body) is dying out.

Once the inverter becomes week it does not rotate coolent efficiently resulting in the EV motor getting heated up and being cut off by the on board computer.

04-07 Prius came with a faulty inverter that burns out incase air is trapped in it, hence the massive recall. As the temperatures are rising there is a possibility your inverter is letting you down. You can read more about the symptoms and how to check if it is working fine here: https://m.facebook.com/notes/kaveens...1575822572021/

Every one should take it very seriously as it can literally roast your EV motor!!

By the way inverter of my Gen 2 blew up the other day got it replaced for Rs. 10,000 approximately, my average has gone from 16.7 KMPL local to 20 local- while this morning my brother took it to GT road and reported it doing really well.
    Hope it helps

My Prius 3rd Gen 2011 1800cc is also giving bad mileage in city ie 15kmpl. Although 23-24kmpl on Highway.

Reason for bad mileage in city could be the traffic condition, for instance I alway stucked in traffic during rush hour and peak time where lots of idling and slow speed, that how prius battery drain quick and Petrol Engine starts to charge prius battery. That how mileage goes down.

Although I have driven my prius in Lahore and Islamabad city, I have been getting 19kmpl.

You should take ur prius on highway for long drive and make sure meter and average is reset and then check how much average you are getting, if ur getting good average on Highway, then most prolly city is culprit due to traffics..

Although you should consider Bilalalam advise too..

Changed the inverter for 10,000 mate-

As for the batteries, they are supposed to last the life of your car- be very care and double check if any mechanics is advising you to replace them.
I read on some forum that some one got brand new ones from Dubai for Gen 2 for around US$2000-US$2500- Used ones from (Javed Denso in Lahore )cost Rs. 50,000 to 100,000
Prices for gen 3 batts might be more expensive

It is called the inverter which is basically the counterpart of the water body in your gasoline engine. You can check it for proper function by doing the following: Without pressing the brake, double press the push start button, now observer the coolent bottle for movement, or hold the hose pipe to feel coolent movement inside- the healthier the movement the healthy your inverter is. If the coolent is barely moving or not moving at all , you gotta get it check immediately. A good electrician should be able to check its amps using an OBD scanner, if its amps are in stable or week, bad luck, it is about to die on you!

No i'm not based in KHI, but any good mechanic should be able to locate it, look it up fixated on the wall behind your left head light. i will try and send a picture later.

note : while you are at it, also make sure your hybrid batteries are not get heated up due to chocked/ blocked vent or heat sync. this also causes the engine to start more often
Drive carefully! Remember, it's not only a car that can be recalled by it's maker.
