its opposite with hybrid cars fuel consumption get better wen u drive in traffic or within city as theres frequent brakes n stoppages......on long route such as highway consume more fuel but still it will give better mileage then any other 1500cc car
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...

Default Importing a Prius from UK to Lahore

    Salam everyone,

Thanks for starting this informative thread on Prius in Pakistan
I spend half of the year in the UK and other half in Lahore
Was planning to bring in a 3rd generation Prius over to Lahore.
I can see a few fellows have imported the cars themselves.

If you look at the autotrader site, a four year old Prius with less than 40000 miles cost around 10000 Pounds

Could someone give me an idea what would that car cost me in Lahore
    Including shipping and all duties.

That way I would have a car with guaranteed mileage and a full service history
Or is it suggested to buy a car locally in Lahore.

    Warm regards from freezing London

    Hello Guys,

Wanted to share this great news for hybrid tech lovers. After reading this news, I have one question for Pak assemblers (Honda, Suzuki, Toyota) WHERE DO YOU STAND AND WHEN WOULD YOU BRING THE REAL TECH TO PAKISTAN?

UK has cold weather. While Pak weather is hot most of the time. So, there may be a heat up issue with UK models.

Imported filters & Engine Oil 5w-30 - available at Toyota dealerships. Then change oil at every 5000km.

went to toyota today, got the 60k service done. the 5w30 oil costs 3150, filter was for 1210 and they charged a whooping 3000 as service charges in which they cleaned the plugs, air filter, brake service and a complementry body wash. have decided not to go to toyota any more, they are efing thieves. from now on will buy the oil and filter and get the rest done from some other workshop.

was just wondering, is the toyota 5w30 oil synthetic? if not then will be using zic A+ in future, costs almost 1k less.

Has anyone changed their Transmission oil yet. I was planning to get mine changed but when the guy at Toyota checked it, it seemed pretty new, no smell or decoloration. so decided not to change it. Also have seen on another forum, people recommend not to fill the engine oil up to the max mark on dip stick. they recommend to keep it a bit less than full mark. The toyota guy has filled it to the max indicator and am thinking of bleeding some oil to lower the level. what do you guys suggest ?

well toyota is thief for sure. Any ordinary mechanic can do this work for you because the engine is same as belta's and vitz.
I am zic's fan, so I use only zic a+ for all my cars.
I have also read that oil should be somewhat below the mark but when i got my oil changed, mechanic filled it till the mark but I dont think so it is that necessary to have little less oil than the mark because kuch soch k he toyota nay oil mark lagaya hua hai

Sorry man but i think you are seriously mistaken. used priuses that are coming into pakistan give approx 25-30 km/l and i have checked this. secondly, i got brand new batteries of my prius from dubai and they came with 10years/240,000km warranty. its warranty this means the batteries can last longer than that. looking at current market prices honda city aspire costs 1.7 million with 1.3 engine and crap quality and safety whereas you can prius for 1.7 million with 1.5 engine and awesome mileage and amazing features and safety. as for resale, right now prius does not gave much resale but i dont think thats a bad trade considering the safety and features im getting. plus even if it is about resale check with toyota, they plan to set up a manufacturing plant for prius in pakistan at the end of 2014. so resale problem solved once that happens. and i had 2007 civic and now prius and prius drive is much better than civic. i think i have made my point

You dont need to turn on the engine it turns on and off according to required power and yea the ac is on batteries when car is stationery or when it is moving slowly. mileage drops 1-2 km/l with ac but even then the prius is affordable.

Prius is impervious to rain water but its batteries can get damaged if they remain in the water puddles we have here pakistan. any water more than 1/2 of its height will damage it. but its not everyday you run into such type of puddles.
