In isb nazir autos in g8.i heared they work on prius but not sure.
Your grandchildren will likely find it incredible - or even sinful - that you burned up a gallon of gasoline to fetch a pack of cigarettes!

Don't know about ISB but to give you an idea on cost - in Lahore it costs around Rs. 5000 from a reliable mechanic / kharadia.
Drive carefully! Remember, it's not only a car that can be recalled by it's maker.

I already went to nazir autos, he said to ignore the noise as long as I can, and when it can't be ignored, then I'll have to spend money. He didn't say how much.

That is very low price. Can you tell me how much was the kharadia charges and how much labour did the mechanic charge. Would really appreciate it.

Went to motor experts in i10 and they are quoting around 18000 for the compete work

I was at baghdadi (at DHA boulevard Lahore) yesterday getting another car fixed, and asked him about a GURR GURR sound from the left side of my 1.5 L Prius thinking it must be faulty shock absorber or ball joint- but the mechanic pointed out that the "kanghee" has a dry bush located towards the passenger side- he further said a lot of people think it is ball joint or faulty shock absorber and get the shock / ball joint etc. changed for no reason- where in fact it is the sound coming from bush of the steering column.

when I asked him to quote he said 5,000 (magar tuhaday naal kar laan gaaay) which means there is still margin for negotiations.

now i know yours in the 1.8 version but still the difference shouldn't be that much. 18K is a lot for this job I remember I got a 03 Prado's wheel column bush repaired for 7,500- a few years back
seems the thugs in ISB don't only live in the parliament lodges after all

will get mine fixed in a few days in shaa Allah and post further details

The whole dash board of the 1.8 has to be removed to get the steering column out. Maybe that's the reason these guys are charging us so much and exploiting the situation

    Default Stearing column

Dear Sajjad, why dont to get on your knees n hold the stearing cross and lightly move the stearing wheel left n right, if you feel any looseness in the cross the problem is only in the cross, most of 1.8 cars with 17 inch allows has this problem and you can getting done in 7000 or 8000. 1.8 has two movements one up down and second back n fourth.
