eCVT acts and performs like a CVT but is not based in belts like a CVT is. Its a planetary gear and requires refined ATF fluid which Toyota calls atf-WS. The name of Prius transmission has basically confused almost everyone.
In this thread also i read some people guiding others to put CVT fluid in their Prius. Please, CVT fluid is a big NO for Prius and will not show it's effects all off a sudden but in the long run ruin it. Both fluids have extremely different properties.
So people please don't let yourself misguided by anyone and keep the fact in your mind "when it requires ATF-WS fluid it's not the same as CVT fluid. Both have totally different properties. I was surprised that even idiots at Toyota 3S said "sir aik hi cheez hain WS aur CVT dono oils bas Toyota company nay naam change kar k nakhra kia hai"
This is the specific one required for Prius. Number: 08886-02305.Name: ImageUploadedByPW Forums1439438878.519120.jpg

Well that's where things go wrong and confusing bro like you said "CVT"
It's not CVT, its eCVT which is an entirely different thing, like I explained in my earlier long and detailed post to save people from the very same confusion

I search to compare Prius L vs S but didnt found proper source.
    Can sum 1 define it?
Wts major or minor diffrence in both?
And navigation is optional even in S model or its factory fitted with all S versions?
Cos find sum options in L but dnt wana go with basic model.
But my range is like basic lvl

Okay will try my best to compare both models though there isn't any much difference.

L doesn't have height adjuster in driver's seat
    No fog lamps
No option to add cruise ( In S you can add cruise later on )
Simple head lights ( S has smoked ones with led strip )
    Lesser Air bags ( L has 2 airbags where as S has 6 )
    L doesn't have arm rest
    L has less speakers ( 4 only where as S has 6 )
For smart entry L has sensors only on driver's side door.

    These are the main differences.

    Salam Alaikum fellas

    Need help
So Allhamdullilah got my prius 3rd gen a few weeks back and drove around in Lahore a bit. Tried avoiding all areas with bad speedbreakers. But the problem arose in my own garage. When parking in garage the car kisses when bringing it up into the garage. Now my options were bigger tires but that is costly for now. So now I am thinking of going for spacers. I have read on this thread that 0.75 inch rear spacers are good enough. Can anyone recommend a good workshop in Lahore for getting these spacers installed. Should I install rubber or steel spacers underneath the springs? Btw I read online that spacers are attachments we install to increase the width of the tires. So when we talk to about spacers, we are talking about the steel/rubber gutkas right? or something else? Any help is recommended. and need a good mechanic as well.

Also is taking out the wheelcaps recommended? I own a S-LED , so should I take out the plastic wheelcaps and use the steel rims or not?

    Thanks

Spacers ruin suspension in the longer run and make car ugly+uncomfortable, i went for slightly bigger tire making is 205/65-15 and rest i plan to be careful. Even better would be 205/60-16 tyres plus that will make your car look better. About the wheel caps, I personally think they look even more ugly.

L version does not have a rear viper as well which makes it distinguishable in difference

but the recommended tire size for mine is 195 so if i do upgrade to 205 , how much ground clearance will be added ? and will it effect the mileage + stability + comfort? Which tyres have you got on your Prius? brand ?

Also what is the recommended tire air pressure for front and back.
In the manual it is written
    front - 35psi
    rear - 33 psi

So for Pakistan, what is recommended?

It's not the arm rest it's just simple console... In S version there is a cushion above this plastic console.

I once read on Toyota.jp that L version had less airbags then the other variants either they are 4 or 2.

I have gone for Bridgestone Ecopia 205/65-15. There is no major effect of average and comfort+stability is slightly better as well. Groung clearance will be improved by about 5mm approximately (1/4") which is enough to avoid scratching if ure careful
