If engine is good it should be negligible.

How much is your car reducing, per oil change.

Please re-check the oil grade you are using. For tropical climate lower number should be 5 ~10w.
    Do read the manual.

Read this article it should help; If he is using 5w-30 in US, you should not be using 0w in hot climate. This may be the reason for oil consumption.

Use 5W30 or 5W40 viscosity oil with ilsac GF-4 or GF-5. and 0W is not suggested to use for cars in Pakistan. And on highway driving which has continuous rpm's so oil burn is expected but in a acceptable range. Try to use Shell Fully Synthetic or LM 5W40

it does - if the engine design allows it, toyota 0w20 is about as heavy as a 30 hot oil when at operating temperature and because the viscosity spread is pretty low the oil is pretty robust itself.

I live in Houston, TX - its like sibbi in the summer (but with humidity) - Fords usually run cheap dino 5w20 engine lube - and have no problems at all.

1Litre/5K reduction is acceptable for Highway Driving. There is nothing wrong with your Prius. Zic oils are not fully synthetic and are made from group 3 base oils hence they evaporate at High Temperatures. For 2007 Prius the recommended oil was changed from 5W-30 to 0W-20 and you can confirm this by looking for a label under your bonnet stating 0w-20 recommendation.
