been there seen that - car rolled to my shop with this sort of installation. It basically showed me the 1 finger salute on the diagnosis scan. The repair bill caused the owner to reconsider his retirement plans in Karachi.

They are not meant to run on cng. It's dangerous. And for someone who can afford multi million vehicle, petrol or diesel shouldn't be one of his worries.

when you purchase a vehicle you purchase it with all its expenses. just like when you purchase a buffalo you know it does not eat just 2 kg of "chaara" a day.

Am aware of it but I actually had a great experience with cng I once bought a pajero in which cng was installed anyway due to some reason had to change the engine so swapped it with 5vz which is 3400cc and used to run it on cng had no problem and was very ecnomical and even where I live cng is not a big problem.... The jeep was working great... Provided me power, economy and everything I need and extra maintaince was also not required so was happy but then sold it and bought a 97 tz and still own it

I hope u understand ke it isn't always a problem to afford a vehicle one usually thinks ke use bethe bithaye sasta kaam mil raha hai which won't harm him so why not do it....? I used to have a 95 pajero with cng and was satisfied with it...

different strokes for different folks - I like my vehicles to work when I want them to work. Rigging stuff to work is not a proven reliable method of owning or operating machinery.

so speaking in context to buying a horse - one should buy it and then force it to live on a goats meal? Just because you WANT a horse.

CNG is not advisable for such big vehicles, and it's socially unacceptable that you buy a car worth 5 million and don't have the guts to run it on petrol.

I have a question for you.

should one buy a car for his "needs" or "wants". little example of myself in Karachi. I drove cars on petrol and thought it would be nice to own a car that would save me some monies - the car of choice in my head was a nissan sunny 1.7D as it can return 18 km/lit given the right conditions.

wandering about I found a VW Golf 1.6D - I knew for damned sure this car is world famous for being super miserly on fuel - I bought it and it used to return a max of 10 km/lit - I then proceeded to adjust it to its factory spec of 20-22 km/lit. it was not even remotely luxury - quite avantgarde to put it nicely - I mean it did not even switch on the roof lamp from the rear doors or even have foam in the front seat backs - it was that spartan.

The difference of wants and needs should not be mixed together. Its never a good idea - e.g. I would WANT a car that rides smoother than a citroen DS and is more economical than a Honda C50 cub motorcycle - it doesnt exist. So I then filter out the little parts - do I need the ultra smooth suspension of the citroen and can afford a bit more fuel for it?

or do I want a car that takes me from point A-B with the least possible fuel cost.
