Hi, I am currently in delimma of getting a car within the budget of 15. Cars that I have shortlisted are, Toyota Altis 1.6 2011-12, Honday City 2013-14. I had Aqua in mind but everyone here on Pakwheels is asking 16 plus. What do you think would be a good price for trouble free Toyota Aqua here in Isb?

First determine which type of car you need.
A sedan or hatchback. Both have their own pros and cons.
Then yes clean aqua costs 17 lakhs.

I am open to both options. Need a trouble free car with not so bad average for daily commute from home to office.

Go for Aqua. It will be light on pocket. Easy to park around.
Resale is good now as car is popular.
Go for a car with verified auction sheet

    Salam Harris.

First of all the reason you are here in the aqua forum is that you like the car and you just want to be convinced about it.
Before suggesting you to buy Aqua I would like to share my experience with you.

    Pros
    1. It's a fun to drive car with loads of power with economy(20km/l-30km/l) that no other car in Pakistan can match.
    2. It looks good and feels good to drive it. It's enjoyable. I don't get bored while even looking at it parked in the porch
    3. It's making its market and will replace vitz and other competitors in this price bracket.
    4. Highly recommendable for local commute.

    Cons
    1. It's not a car for five people. The rear seats and leg space is designed for two persons only.
    2. The clearance is a bit lower for the insanely designed speedbrakers and offroading/rural areas.
    3. Not very comfortable compared to Altis in you options. The suspension is a bit stiffer.
    4. Even if you get a very clean Aqua base grade/L for 14.5-15 , there is the registration cost 60-100k and other after purchase expenses like tyres/Rims, etc. So it will definitely be around 16. But it's worth it to spend 50k to 100k extra on something you like.

My daily drive is around 80kms round trip between Isb and Rwp. So yes, it will be very light on pocket when it comes to fuel. Lets see if I can get my hands on a good one.

First of all, Thank you for a very detailed response Yes I am tipping towards Aqua. The only thing that is keeping me skeptical a little is the drive. I have been driving a Honda Civic from last 4 years. Sold it recently, it was not so nice on fuel either. I think I will be pretty ok with a car that delivers atleast 12-13 kmpl fuel avg if not more. The only reason why Altis was in the list was because of the good suspension. And ofcourse few other goodies like sunroof, leather seats and all. But I know, there is no comparison when it comes to the quality of JDM vehicles compared to our local ones.
Can you please guide me regarding registration charges? Like do Japanese Hybrid vehicles have different registration rates than normal local vehicles? What would be the registration cost for a Filler here in Isb?

Haris Bhai i would recommend you to buy Aqua...aankhen band kar ke... My daily running is around 60 to 80 km/day. Aqua is definately very light on pocket. Weather in karachi is really hot these days. Temperature at mid day getting close to 38 or 39C. My Aqua giving me an average of 22 to 25km/l with AC on all the time. I drive with a normal foot not with a very light foot. Parts are easily available. Drive is not that bad either. I had a Honda Fit shuttle 2012 model. kept it for almost 2 months then sold it and shifted to Aqua. Fit shuttle drive was really Awesome. Although suspension was stiffer but i enjoyed the ride. When i shifted to aqua felt a bit difference in the drive quality. But within 2 days i was used to Aqua. Suspension are softer than Fit Shuttle. and i have to admit now that I WAIT FOR THE NEXT RIDE ON MY AQUA.... I would not recommend u to buy Altis. The only advantage would be a little bit softer suspension. Resale and fuel average again will be a problem for you.

    AoA,
Just go throuth the forum and found that 3.7ltr is for OIL but as I remember my machanic pour the 4 litre in my aqua because I told him 3.9 recommended (My fault). Is this extra .3 ltr is causing the low milage issue for me and should I drain this extra oil?

I poured 3.6 ltr but the dip stick marking was lower so poured 4ltr
