Default Is it worth it now?

    Hello fellas.

It's been quite a few years now since the Prius first started showing up on Pakistani roads.
It has gained in popularity and is becoming quite common.

My question is, is it worth it?

The reason I ask is because I'm looking to buy a car and the fuel efficiency really is enticing.
Not a fan of the Prius (no offense to any sensitive Prius owners ) but my financial position is such that I am considering the 2007-9 model.

I have talked to Prius owners here and they have been singing praises about it. However, I'm skeptical.

So I put it to you. What would you buy if you had the choice. I'm talking about the 12-14 lac bracket and a sedan body type.
So far I've had the City and Corolla suggested to me (2008-2011 models).

Would you go for a Prius over those two cars because of the fuel efficiency? What about the maintenance costs? The resale? The battery? How long before it needs a change? How much does it cost to change it? Are there any other hybrids that might be a better option?

    Thanks in advance.

It's always ur decision according to your requirement & personal liking/disliking & above all your BUDGET which matters. All local cars even have issues & heavy maintenance cost eg Suzuki v civic v corolla same case is with Japanese cars including hybrid & nonhybrid I think instead of getting confused search on Wikipedia & get information, in Budget of 16-17 you can get 4.5 Grade Aqua S package model 2012-13. Once again it's you who matters.

Hello, did you consider checking Honda insight? It is a bit cheaper than prius and is a hybrid with good mileage on the internet, Honda Insight Mileage | Fuelly

Yes, well aware of the Insight.

However, I prefer the Prius over it.

insight is not proper hybrid like civic, it has IMA technology which gives you maximum 13-14 km/ltr in city, go for Aqua.

I have recently purchased Toyota Prius 1.8, from Lahore after considering many cars option like Toyota Corolla, Honda City. This car is amazing car it has changed my mind and has made me tension free. I would suggest every one please do not waste you money on purchasing local cars, straight away go for Prius.
