Hi Friends, I be soon travelling to Fsd from Isb. I know you all will say choose best that is M2 & M3.
But here's the issue, I live in Naval Anchorage that is on Islamabad Expressway and only 11km away from G.T Road. So to go all way through crowdy Pindy and then enter toll plaza which comes to 38km.
I was thinking how about if I go down on G.T Road till Mandra and exit right to Chakwal before joining M2 through KalarKahar Interchange, which will not only reduce approximately 31.5km but probably also save me from 45-50 min rushy driving from home till Isb M2 toll plaza. :)
Distance from Home to KalarKahar: Home to Mandra=30km
(Google Maps) Mandra to Chakwal =62.5km
Chakwal to KalarKahar Interchange=27km
TOTAL: 119.5KM
Distance from Home to KalarKahar: Home to M2 ISB toll plaza=38km
(Google Maps) M2 toll to KalarKahar Interchange=113km
TOTAL: 151KM
One thing I want to make you note that by the time I have reached M2 toll plaza, if I go by G.T road-I would already have taken the right turn and be ahead of Mandra by 8km approx towards Chakwal.
Since you all are perfect and many might have gone the way I am thinking, I am looking for answers on following queries. Bust for the context I be driving Honda City 2001 A/T:
- Road Condition from Mandra to KalarKahar Interchange (Condition, Avg Speed, Easily Maintable Speed etc)?
- Should I opt for the route I think I should?
- Security Isuues?
- Availabiliy of CNG/Petrol?
- Time taken on whole journey?
- Upon returning should I take this journey too?
- Traffic load?
- Or any other route to reach FSD?
- Interesting spot area (Dining or spot wise)?
Or any other Guidance/Suggestions are most welcome. And yes I know 31.5km are not much when going for long journey but still it counts. I feel (bara ajeeb) going north, then east and after driving for an hour or so then finally heading south to the town if I chose to opt Motorway!
