Hello everyone
First of all I must appreciate all of you for your extraordinary contributions to this forum.
I am planning to visit Dudipatsar Lake. Couple of week ago, we had plan to visit Skardu but I postponed it because of sad incident with foreigners.
Here are the issues about which I need information.
- The problem is that we are ONLY two friends right now going to visit Dudipatsar. Is it safe to go there this way?
- How about the security concerns particularly after recent awful incident with foreigners.
- Here is my plan that I have prepared. Please critically review it and suggest some improvements.
Leave from Lahore at 3rd July for Mansehra. Then at 4th July, visit Saif-ul-malook. We have to go there because my friend has never been there.
Then on 5th July, we would leave for Basel and will stay at "Mulla ki Basti" after hiring mules from Basel. Next day morning, we would move to Dudipatsar Lake on 6th July. Now there are two option, one is to spend whole day there and come back on 7th July or second option is to come back the same day as it is easy and quick to move downward. However we dont plan to stay because we dont have camping tools.
Then come back to Naran and via Mansehra to Lahore.
- If you agree with this plan, should we only take necessary luggage to dudipatsar and leave remaining stuff at Naran?
- What are your suggestion to take with us as food while on trek to Lake from Naran.
- If we hire mules from Besal, what would they charge approximately. And the cost of Jeep from Naran to Besal?
- If we hire mules from Besal, do we still need to hire porter too? I think we can carry luggage through mules then.
- If we plan to visit Lulusar too, should we have to come back to Besal to turn towards Mulla ki Basti or there is some direct way leading towards there?
Thank you all of you again for your support.
