Always buy confirmed tickets (from agent) and if needed pay the price at the spot. Don't accept the clause in the umra agreement that says "ticket cost may increase before the departure date and that pilgrim has to pay for the difference". This is totally baseless and ignorant pilgrims are ripped off because of this clause. Once you have paid for the ticket and have confirmed booking, prices are locked. What happens, poor pilgrim is shown price of the ticket on airlines website a day before flight departure, he thinks computer is intelligent equipment and will not say wrong but he forgets that he has paid confirmed price for a confirmed reservation 3 to 4 weeks ago. I had purchased tickets online 4 weeks in advance for Rs. 55,000 per head. Two days before my departure, fare had climbed to Rs.78,000.
