you waste time and money,,,,,,,,,no way that problem can be solved without changing all the bearings with the 100% original one ,,,,,,,,,,there are 10 bearings in cultus,,,,,,,,,,,,i cant say about alto ,,,,,,,,,it will cost you nearly 800Rs+ for each bearing ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i am not sure alto is 5 speed or 4 because i have no experence with it,,,,,,,,,,,but this same problem happens on my cultus ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,first you have to find which gear is giving problem ,,,,,,,,,,,,,in my case its the 5th gear which is giving noice,,,,,,,,,,,,its roller bearing need to change ,,,,,,,,,,,to find which gear is ginving noice you put a jack under one of frount wheel and start the car,,,,,,,,,,,,,put in every gear and check on which gear the noice vanishes,,,,,,,,,,,,,in my case its the 5th gear on which the noice vanishes,,,,,,,,,luckily you no need to remove/open gear inorder to change the 5th gear roller bearing, just the right side black cover need to remove near battery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,carry out this test in early moring when oil is all cold and as thick as grease
