Aoa everyone,
I just bought an '88 model Corolla and plan to swap the engine with only one thing in mind: Fuel economy.
I'm considering diesel as an option but not old engines. For petrol, since I won't be using CNG, I'd prefer one of the newer engines...zz series perhaps but not sure if they can fit easily for such an old model.
The transmission has to be auto.
Budget is open - I can spend upto 100-125k if the engine meets my requirements and is worth it since I intend to keep the car for a couple of years as a daily runner.
I would really appreciate the input of all the gurus here as to the choice of the engine. Auto transmission and the fuel economy factor are the major considerations.
If this info helps in regard to technical issues, I'll be getting it done from a known Toyota 3s workshop.
Thanks in advance! Regards
