AOA Xulfiqar bhai, good to hear from you (that's exactly what i wanted :)). The car was towed to home, parked in the garage and is not under repair at the moment. I just wanted to have some 'expert' opinions (like yours) before i proceed further, to make sure no such 'Ustad' makes fool of me. As i mentioned, the last timing belt was replaced back in 2007-8, afterwards no idea about tension or oil spill inside. For your information, i went to the parts market in Rawalpindi yesterday and found the following rates:
- Timing Belt (Japan / guaranteed) @ Rs. 650/- (shopkeeper told me its good for 80,000 kms)
- Timing Bearing (Japan) @ Rs. 1,350/-
Another shop:
- Timing Belt (Thailand) @ Rs. 1,150/- (good for 50,000 kms)
- Timing Bearing (Japan) @ Rs. 1,250/-
I am confused from the above statements. Is Japan made belt cheaper than the Thailand one? the difference of life span? :S
Can you please guide me what to do next.
Regards
