@hasnain2005, sir you are right.. and to be honest it's not because of any of the reasons you have mentioned. we did our homework we sent out around like 900 copies per month for first two months to potential companies & so called big guys. and just for the record magazine cannot make money by selling on bookshops, the more we sell the magazine the more loss it is. simply because the printing expense per copy is Rs. 65/- and we sell it for Rs. 50/- and bookkeeper takes Rs. 15/- so end of the day I get Rs. 35/- per copy sold.. which is like half of the printing cost. so the only way is via advertisements. it's not about PakWheels it's about every magazine in Pakistan. The reason not for keep it at every bookstore in country was that the higher the number of copies sold the higher the loss and it's not that we did'nt get adveritsements at all.. it's just that our quality standard is little higher then what the market can afford. our list price per page is Rs. 15,000/- for 1 page. But market can afford only Rs. 5,000/- per page. thye don't care it's good quality printing or even if it's black & white.. that is the maximum they can afford.. and we cannot drop the quality that's my personal opinion if u gotta do it, do it the best possible way.. it works or it does'nt works that's another issue.
@testdriver, sure we did think about it.. but again we did pros & cons for either to focus on quarterly magazine or on website.. the pros are heavy for website.
@nightsurfer, we did a survey of atleast 50-80 people for the price.. majority said between Rs. 35 - 50.. so that is the reason for the price, since it's based on the market survey. the Soft Copy.. was just to make sure everyone knows that PakWheels has a magazine also.. as print media cannot reach every corner as compared to electronic media.
