Hi Guys,
I always wondered how easily the original prices of our rides get lost in the dust of history. When we later look back and recall ( if one remember at all) it gives you interesting perspective. I am starting this thread for all to share the original (factory) prices of their rides with the year purchased. I will take the initiative.
My father's first ride Piaggio Vespa 1964 Rs. 2149 (He still has this scooter with original receipt)
Honda Bike H100S 1984 Rs.14000
Suzuki FX 1984 (Not sure abt the year) please correct me if wrong) Rs.42,000
Toyota Corolla 1979 Rs. 100,000
My first visit to Gas Station 1982 Regular Gas Rs.8 /Lit
Now it’s your turn
Nice thread and infoBut all golden days left begind in dust

When we converted our corolla to diesel wayyyyyyyyyy back............ diesel was 10rs/litre .............
you guys are missing one thing. Car prices were remarkably lower 50 years ago and so was petrol and household equipment. But so were your salaries. In proportion; it was pretty much the same.
In America my dad once got gas @ 80 cents/ gallon in 2001 in L.A.
That converts to about 17-18 rs / liter in 2001 !
In 2003, petrol was about 33 rs / liter and now its double ! ( 4 months ago it was 57.8)
In 1993 i bought computer 386sx with 40mb hard drive in Rs.30,000. The vendor told me to buy 120mb hard drive that will never be full. ha ha ha ha
this year i bought a P4 with blah blah blah blah in Rs.26000
are u sure about petrol being Rs.8 per litre in early eighties? i remember petrol at Rs.6.5/Litre in late eighties. Diesel was 3.2 or something per litre then. We used to fill up our Jeep Cherokee (diesel) for around Rs.160!
@khattak Wow! If those were the prices here; imagine Arabia
Redbull:
Thats exactly the same thing i bought back in '93
The biggest harddrive available at that time was 500mb.
By the way i had 386dx 4mb ram and 125mb HDD for Rs 37000.
@memphisare you sure 500mb drive was available in 1993. may be i bought in 1992 if your year is right because 120mb was the maximum capacity of hard disk when i bought mine.
in Arabia, they should have committee kay nalkay for petrol they way we have committee kay nalkay for water!
@khattak"they should" ///
I want that time back & have (all) "big-block" cars ...!
