Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) would take strict action against unauthorised vehicles registration number plates after January 16 2008 and the citizens have been directed to display the number plates according to the prescribed format, spokesman of ITP said.
No relaxation would be given to any body after 16th January; SSP (Traffic) Islamabad Zubair Hashmi warned the road users displaying non-pattern registration number plates on their vehicles.
The ITP has already started a comprehensive campaign one and half month ago to standardise the registration number plates of the vehicles in the city and the drivers and car owners had been educated in this regard apart from displaying banners depicting instructions about number plates on prominent places in the federal capital.
He added that after 16th January 2008 ITP will issue traffic violation tickets besides impounding such vehicles under relevant laws for displaying non-pattern registration number plates and no relaxation will be accorded to any body, therefore the citizens should obtain number plates according to the prescribed format.
