Levin are you going to sort him out, or should i? lol..Kidding.
To be honest these cars were'nt originally popular. Singapore sold the Trueno 15,000 more than the base crade EE80 Corolla. During their production the car recieved little acclaim other than being sturdy runabouts. The 4A-GE on the other hand is a different story, although based on the 2/3 T type engines, Yamaha and Toyota produced a gem. A loved engine for its high revving characteristics but not by the purists as lighter internals saw more frequent faliures than usual. It wasn't until the Famed Japanese Anime Initial D that this car gained immense popularity. A little neglected fact is that before initial D the AE86 or Hachiroku was used by the now legendary driver and founder of the D1 and the drifting sport itself, Keiichi Tsuchiya. Now the car is harder to get than Musharraf's headshot. By the way ,of the 100 Sprinter Trueno/Levins imported into Singapore, only 15 survive. YOu can see pictues in the AE86 meet i posted.
Trueno by the way is Spanish for Thunder and Levin is Mauri word for Lightening!
