now i admit tht i am a really big fanof the the RX7 and the rotary engine but truly this is not a true statement that the RX7 is a unrealiable the car uses a wankel rotary engine which won the best engine of the year award 2003 www.ukintpress.com/engineoftheyear/ieoty.html
now to clarify a wankel rotary has not more than 3 major moving parts in it and 8 which bear wear in running of the engine including all the valves and other parts moving parts dont exceed 16 plus the engine revolves in only one direction always
the conventional engine has more than atleast 42 major moving parts (i can supply list if needed) if u include the valves and crap tht makes of over 100 wearin parts which dont move are atleast 6 in any engine excepting the block plus the engine changes its rotaion and direction (pistons ) vigorously many times a sec
and still u say the rotary is unreliable
ok i again give u a test u aplit apart a convention and we ll split a rotary and lets rebuild both lets see which takes more time i hope u get my point its only tht how well u understand it.
yeah u can probably say it can be difficult to get repairs here in pak but not in lahore for sure.
now i am big lover of conventional engines e.g a 3.5litre 280 BHP nissan 350 Z engine is far gr8 than than the rotary 1.3 or 2.6 or for tht matter a prsche 5.7 L 615 BHP v10 engine leaves no trace of the rotary but for a 1.8 vtec dohc cmon buddy rotary is much superior and much reliable as well all ppl who ve worked owned or know the rotary know and admit it
there is only one possible point where the conventional engine is superior and thts NOS a conventional engine can hold good upto a 200 HP shot sometimes but a rotary can bear a gr8est of 80 hp shot tht because of seals tht dont hold very tight to the lowering temp of NOS
3 cheerz for the 1.8dohc and the rotary
