    Salam alaikum!

I bought my GS150 in June, and have done 5500km. It is the best and most comfortable bike, being manufactured in Pakistan, for long distance travel.
Unfortunately there are some quality and quality control problems in the new model. More Pakistani parts are used, made of the same "tin-dabba" that Suzuki cars are made of. The silencer had rust within two months (bad quality). One of the front shock rods had to be replaced (bad quality control), because it had a dent/piece missing, and shock oil was leaking. The contact for the self-starter was loose and it did not work when the engine was hot. It was fixed by the mechanic.
During the first 1000km there was slight overheating. But IT WAS JUNE and the trips were long. The mechanic did not tighten the valves on first tuning (at 1000km), to avoid over-heating, as I was going for a long trip.

    Suzuki GS150CC GS125CC -875037

The bike at Khunjerab pass check post, China border.

At around 4500km the speedometer stopped working and was fixed by changing things in the front hub.

Still it provides the comfort for which I bought it.

    @ naves
    will b a good experience
n try if som showroom cld offer u old model at less price,
may not b less as people r saying old is better in all terms,

the bike is heavier in weight n looks also,
    self strater is good,
u wil njoy more if u change ur tire, but wil hav 2 compromise 4 the consumption (a little bit)
in case u change oil at about 1000kms,
    oil filter @ 3000kms
    n wash ar filter @ 1000kms regularly
u will insha Allah not go 2 mechanics so often,
wese they offer a good waranty.
btw, mine ofered about 40km p ltr plus

btw hav a lokk at mine, as i may sel for a reasonable offer, n the freight will b abour 1200Rs.
i think the prices of new hav increased again, n it is aprox. 75,000 n after reg u will hav Rs78000 spent on this, so if u get a bike only 17500kms done, with full service history, very well maintained etc etc in Rs52,000.
it can b a good deal, saving aprox 30k. but again choice is urs,

if u wan a bike with heavy looks ten GS is ultimate choice or dlux is good in style but not in consumption n pick etc.

    @naves
The experience can good to great.
The problems I mentioned above were most probably due to pakistani quality and quality control. I have not had any problems with the engine. The bike never stopped.

A small problem for me is that I live in Abbottabad, and there are no Suzuki workshops here, so I don't go for maintenance locally. I have to go to Rawalpindi for any warranty related problems and tuning.

Also, my trips are long, even day trips to Rawalpindi are over 250km. Skardu/Khunjerab trip was 1900+km. Lahore trip almost 1000km. With that kind of useage I have to be extra careful. But people living in KHI/LHE/ISB should not have these problem.

Mostly the bike gives around 40km/litre around Abbottabad(hilly roads), more on long trips/straight roads. Except when I use petrol from unknown petrol stations and the consumption gets worse.

The engine does not heat up, no performance degradation from Abbottabad to Gujarkhan, where I had to take a break, not the bike.

a good example is asad yaara

if u start thinking eveything said by ocal mechanics u will find gs a problem
u know a good hinda mechanic will never ever touch a GS's carb
    y
    bcoz its more advanced than . . . .

I use Caltex Havoline, 1litre, the pack is black.
You can use any oil which has "API SG" or "JASO MA" printed on it. This is most important. "DO NOT USE HAVOLINE FORMULA", IT IS ONLY FOR NEW CARS.

The tappets should not make any noise(if you have not changed the setting on the carb), have it checked by a suzuki mechanic.

I have no choice but to go to Rawalpindi, but luckily, the mechanic is good. But, you should ask about and visit different suzuki workshops and select the best.

I have not changed or added anything on the bike. I will change the side mirrors when I get some good ones.

@scorpeo, it would be nice if you elaborate your claim.

I rode a GS-150 more than two years ago so my memory may be vague and you can correct me if I am wrong.

I do not remember GS-150 having:
    - Any kind of style
    - A fuel gauge
    - A dipper control
    - Disc brake
    - Gear indicator
    - Color matching fenders
    - Fairing

Now it may have better technology but Suzuki could have introduced bikes much better than the GS-150 if they did care about the Pakistani market.
Waiting for the day people start obeying laws of the road while on the road... sigh!

A new bike will always be better. So if the CD200 is new, which I doubt, go for it. But if the CD200 is old, I say go for a new GS150.

I am mainly talking about the maintenance issue. I have seen that maintaining used multi-cylinder, even twin cylinder, bikes is a time consuming task. And also expensive. The same goes for used bikes that we buy.

    Thanks bros
the reason for not making the decision in favor of cd200 despite being in love with it for a long time was same as u two have mentioned that is high running cost(maintenance). i have decided to buy gs, actually visiting a local suzuki dealer tomorrow in hope that the bike doesnt disappoint me and has all the qualities attributed to it by u all. wish me luck
