    New battery bought from dealer three months ago not holding charge. The original battery lasted 3 years, but this new one is crap. And the dealer in RWP says there is NO warranty!

    I have not used a sealed/dry battery in a motorbike myself. Although I have met a few people at workshops, who were installing one or had it installed but none had any previous experience and no one had a sealed battery installed for over a month or two.

    Advantages:
    1. Maintenance free, you don't have to refill the battery fluid.
    2. Since no refilling is required so there is less rusting problem. With regular batteries, just washing the deposits on terminal causes rust.
    3. Someone told me that if proper terminal contacts are used there are no deposits on the battery terminal either, not sure about that. In imported UPSs which use sealed batteries, I have not seen any deposits even after a year of use.

    Disadvantages:
    1. Expensive. A matching sealed battery can cost 3 to 10 times as much. Since UPSs have become more common, the price of these batteries has dropped, but fake batteries have also become more common, so beware.
    2. Not available in all specifications and sizes. So, its not sure if you will get a 12V (8 Ah)/10HR sealed battery. If you get a battery with those specs, it may not be the correct size, and some mounting modification may be required.

    Last time when I took the battery out to refill and wash/clean the deposits on the terminals, one of the connectors crimped to the wire broke because of rust. The nut/bolt holding the end of the connector were rusted and could not be un-screwed or taken off. So I had to get wires soldered to battery terminals and connect that to the wiring. Won't happed with dry batteries.

    Make sure you keep the battery terminals clean, do it frequently. Maybe it is more of a problem in Abbottabad because of the weather.

    this problem is not restricted to abbotabad only. my bike was giving me trouble with self start, it was strange cause my bike and battery r just few months old. when i checked the battery the terminals were almost invisible due to deposits. i had to clean them and now everything is back to normal.my advice to every body is check ur battery atleast once a month.

    Wa `alaikum salam

    Ground clearance for GS-150 is 165mm.

    On the inside back cover of the Urdu owner's manual its written as
    155mm
    , but that does not make sense. On the inside front cover it says clearance of GS-125 is 170mm. Also, the brochure for GS-150 mentions 165mm.

    Not so sure now, it's mentioned as 155mm on another page in the owner's manual. Could someone with English manual check this.

    I have uploaded the scanned owner's manual GS-150/GS-125 Urdu and the back page of the GS-150 brochure/sheet at:
    http://www.esnips.com/web/asad-Misc/

    The manual is in PDF format, 53 pages, 1.7MB.
    Sheet page is JPG, 174KB.

    is this warranty applicable for bikes purchased before 15 Feb? as i bought my bike on 4th Feb (Karachi).

    That means they have halved the warranty.

    It means Suzuki reduces the quality thats why they have reduced the warranty

    @all
    I have asked a question from all of customers and company representatives that why Suzuki launched old and out dated body shape of GS150 and why not launched like GS150R (Indian model)

    @asad01

    I was going through the specs of gs-150 on the link that you posted.

    I have a doubt that its seat is not 850 mm high as i have seen ppl riding it and seat height seems very low.
    is this true or some misprinting

    According to my knowledge

    Piaggio seat height = 790mm
    Sprinter seat height = 800mm
    GS-150 seat height = 850mm

    and seat of gs-150 seems lower than both of the other two bikes.

    Please clarify according to your experience.

    @RX115
    Sorry about the delay. Choosing between GS-150 and GS-125 is more of a personal choice.

    If one wants a 150cc bike GS-150 is the only choice. If one wants a 125 cc bike then there are several choices (other brands). If one wants a "Suzuki" and one of the 'heavier' models, then one has to decide between GS-125 and GS-150.

    Obviously, GS-150 is more powerful, as both the bikes weigh about the same, the performance will differ according to the power of the engine.

    Other than power the main differences are cost related.
    150 is more expensive than 125. (one time expense)
    150 is more expensive to ride (fuel consumption. (regular running cost)
    Both cost about the same to maintain as almost all body parts and many(most?) engine parts are the same.

    I am not aware of the price difference between the two or the fuel cost difference. If someone can afford to buy and maintain, then GS-150, but if one has some budget constraints then GS-125. Also, sometimes there are some issues that are seemingly unrelated to us, but are important for the buyer, and they have to go for the lower or standard size/budget.
