    Default engine oil

Salaam, everyone saying here this oil or that oil, recommend is same 10/40, therefore go for six 4t, but some one Plz tell how much quantity required for GS 150.
Because I have changed my 1st engine oil after 345 km with 1 litre pack, but I think that is not enough because gauge is little below from F.

Get Zic A (Semi-synthetic) 10W-40. Neither too thick nor too thin. API SM. So good, so smooth. lasts long. saves money. saves engine. light weight, faster engine.

gauge might be showing low because of uneven surface. dont worry about that. 1 litre is the quantity required. so enjoy riding and dont worry.

May you have never ever read the manual of any bike in Paksitan
There is a chart of temprature to oil grade and for Pakistani conditions 20w-50 is the recommended grade for summers
You need to do some research on what the number before W and after that means
Modern engines are liquid cooled and built for these modern grades but these old 80's air cooled SOHC engines are not for these oils
In manual of vitz 0W-20 is recommended as in winters it snows heavily in tokyo or northern Hokkaido in Japan(assuming if car was meant for those areas)
Now who in this country would be stupid enough to put 0W-20 in their vitz in 50 degrees summers

Guys never ever use a car oil in your bike's engine ( for example Zic A+ and A)
Always use bike oil otherwise the engine's wet clutch will be damaged overtime
Zic 4T is only recomended in winters as it is little viscous and surely my gs150 started in first self without choke even in snow in murree
But during summers very bad result:
    -The engine got too noisy
-Too many vibrations at all rpms
So using liqui moly 20w-50 in summers and zic 4T 10w-40 in winters
Also genuine havoline is very very hard to get nowadays, tried it in my cd70 and gs150 and after only 600 Km oil turned into water like junk

having the same issue . havoline is of pathetic quality now . even pumps dont have good oils now. really disappointed from caltex. recently my friend had to pay 80k to get his car's engine overhauled which was fu**** up by using havoline for a few thousand kilometres. it was fake.

Sad to read about your friend's experience with havoline
I have been using zic A in my rolla 96 for two oil changes and the engine is doing well

You better use some api SG Oil in your GS. U can try Liquimoly 20w-50, Valvoline 20w-50, Zic m5 20w-40, SGO 10w-40. All are good to be used in gs. As all these mentioned oils are wet clutch safe.

For the last 3 time, i use Yamaha lube in my sprinter and result is superb. Before yamaha lube, i was using havoline. Now i ride bike double than havoline and still oil is not fully black. Abhi kafi jan hai is main. Havoline 700-800km par mar jata tha. But yamaha 1300-1400 par b abhi asani se 200-300 km nikal jayega. You must try the yamaha lube.
