    Cool My Suzuki GS150 Euro-ll

    Hello everyone,
By the grace of Allah, I have purchased my new ride GS150.
Previously, i have owned CD70 (used around 2000Km only, sold because of too tiny engine for my needs)

My second bike as most of you here know was Junoon. Used for 11000 Km , a very nice bike. Did a lot of long tours on this bike and it was wonderful companion. It is in family use now.

Because of my touring nature and "Need for Speed", this time i went with the maximum CCs available in market aka GS150, Alhamdulillah it is my third bike in one year time period
I haven't used it much yet, so can't tell much about it yet. But i have found it amazingly vibration free and silent.
Here are few shots, please say Mashallah

Advice Needed for Bike Purchase please!

Greetings, I am interested in buying a new bike for myself. At present I have a Honda CD-70. I have used it for 5 years - with its engine remade twice during this period! However, of late, I need an upgrade in engine power to get to and from work quicker. Though I am interested to buy GS-150, most threads here at "PAKWHEELS" has shied me away from it as the opinions expressed here seem tilted in favor of CG125 / or its variant the Deluxe model. Now I am finding myself caught between devil and the sea! On the one hand, I do not like Honda's kick-start feature and unnecessary LOUD silencer noise. However, on the other hand I also have came across numerous flip sides of GS150 that have deterred me from purchasing it with confidence. Following are the points, that I jotted down from most of PAKWHEELS discussions on similar discussion forums:
    1. Head Light - untidy magic epoxy inside the head light
    2. Battery mounting and holding belts are either missing or of a bad quality
    3. Tyre (rear) appears too small and unreliable as it punctures more than often. Therefore, buyers are replacing those with Thailand IRC-NR28 or SriLankan 100/90 - 18" tubeless tyre (but they still tend to put in the tube, because otherwise GS-150's low quality wheel rim tends to 'bite' the tube and thus puncture it)
    4. Side mirrors are of inferior quality
    5. Paint job quality is poor. Because of this mudguards, rims, chain covers and spoke parts start becoming rusty very early. Buyers also have found AFTER buying for chipped body paint on their GS-150s
    6. Speedometer Assembly Cable has problems
    7. Timing chain has problems
    8. RPM are high even once the bike is in Neutral gear
    9. Qualified mechanics are not available - even with the seller show-rooms. New customers keep visiting their respective show-rooms but are informed that their mechanic is unavailable.
    10. Spare parts are unavailable. Once, after repeated customer visits, one does get then those are of inferior quality
    11. Most buyers complained of following most affected accessories of GS-150:
    a. Lights
    b. Brake and clutch Cables
    c. Side view mirrors
    d. Rubber parts like gromets etc
    e. Paint and chrome
    12. Battery cover lock is not given!!!
    13. Tool Box cover lock is not given!!!
    14. Indicators are without screws and are not flexible
    15. Battery box and tool box cover clips (nakkay) are bad due to design and quality
    16. Build quality is NOT good
    17. Rear wheel / Tyre is always out (lehraa k chalta hey)
    18. Problem with chain sproket (clutch chorro to 'khatt' key aawaz aatee hey)
    19. Breaks are very weak. NO Disc Breaks
    20. Rubber dampers below seat get faulty
Guys, I know I got lengthy. However, I wanted to cover comprehensively as GS-150 price is pretty dear. I therefore, being a middle class person, cannot afford to make costly mistakes. Please note that I have not focused on RESALE aspect of GS-150 once compared to CG 125
Bro, can you help me in deciding please as you already have used both GS150 as well as CG125. Also, kindly advise about any news of Suzuki bringing out newer design model of GS150 any time next year? Or perhaps Honda rolling out their 150 cc Bike?

GS has no chance to keep up with CG in initial acceleration. But on highway, it clearly has advantage of around 5-10km/h more top speed. Rest assured , when you are rolling on GT road, no CG will mess with you.
I beat another CG near Okara, but it had two skinny guys on it so i thought it lost so easily because of pillion rider. But same happened with brand new CG with single rider also.

Many thanks. I did go through your post. Seems I will be getting Suzuki GS 150, however, when I meet the Suzuki people they recommend against this bike themselves. This is why I had to go through this exercise with you guys - the every day user!

    See you!

Hey Gux, Am new to this so never mind if I do something stupid... Just wanted to be the Devil's (GS150) Advocate. I own one and to me the downsides are (or in reality is):

a.Braking... so speed only where u r sure of not hitting sudden brakes

Rear tyre... well this is just an AESTHETIC ISSUE has got nothing to do with usual punctures (that's BS)... I've had my byk since 2008 and changed my rear tyre in 2011 not because of punctures ironically in fact it didn't have even a single puncture.

As far as the rest of the things are concerned i.e. Spares 'n' Service well then SPARES are available and SERVICE well it doesn't need it... Why cuz GS is a robust byk and I still remember when I was buying I asked the Suzuki people if there were somethings to be kept in mind and they said... "JUST DRIVE CAREFULLY..." after driving for sometime a realized that when you come to apply the sudden brakes in a GS... It usually or more often is TOO LATE...

About it getting beaten by a CG well that's another folklore... I beat fair 'n' square every CG on every traffic signal.

In the end every brand has some difference in technology and you need to get used to your machine... If you buy CG it's a good choice but plz don't do that by belittling GS

vickytulla has done proper benchmark drag testing of CG and GS and according to him CG has superior acceleration by clear margin.

Gux me no super rider or anything... the stuff is for racing you need a warm engine plus a good non viscous oil and when comes to this my personal favorite is Caltex 10-40. The reason why is because 20-50 used most commonly by everybdy owning wheels is its commonly available. A non-viscous oil gives your piston a sliding motion as compared to compressed movement incase of 20-50 (e.g. improvement in pick when you add STP additive to an old engine the pick increases dramatically but when the same additive is poured into a new engine with no piston ring wear your engine goes bust cuz the oil being too viscous dznt reach the oil rings)...

Sorry if I was abit too obvious or complex... Secondly I 2nd Vicky it really depends on how you did you engines running and usual oil change plus the drivng style and the list goes on...

Attaching anouther pic.. felt kinda nice for receivng acclaims for ma ride...
My Suzuki GS150 Euroll Silent Beast -1139779

And yea I also admit I havnt raced anybdy serious just fun and kids stuff for you gux...
