    Cool Suzuki GS150 Euro-ll 2013

    Hi everybody
    Here is my new ride GS150.
    This is my second GS. I got Deluxe after selling the first one, but started missing the silent and smooth ride of GS so got one again.

    Anyway, very happy with bike average, considering it wasn't all smooth cruising. GT road is undergoing maintenance at many places at the moment. So slow downs, traffic jams were also there.

    Lahore to ISL ride on a cloudy day. Faced rain too from Kharian to Dina.
    Sorry, no fuel average yet, 500 ka petrol dalwaya tha Muridke ke paas se aur khatam hi nahi howa. Damn this efficient bike.
    Will update on average once bike hits reserve.
    Till then enjoy the pics.
    And yeah, it was a "business" trip. Once i am done with business here, a pleasure trip to mountains might be in store.

    Alright bike hit the reserve and fuel average came out 45Km/lit.
    Speed was as usual around 80 most of the time. Also navigated through a 5km long traffic jam on Islamabad Express Highway.
    Used Total Petrol this time.

    Indeed gull Bhai l ve also got same mileage on highway vd avg speed over 80 to 85 so asad bhai @massterr100 is right . he told me 80 to 85 is economy zone for GS.

    So after i was done with the things in ISL, it was time for the pleasure trip.
    Having covered most of the margalla hills and murree already, Nathia Gali side was apparent option for a quick tour.
    So even though weather forcast wasn't looking good, we decided to give it a go.
    We left at around 8 am, plan was to make it to murree first and have breakfast there and then continue. I realized that even though i had used Murree Express Way many times while coming down, i never tried it for going up. So we took the Express Way to Murree and it was fun. No traffic blocking you and you can use all the horses in your bike as you wish. While i was pushing my GS and feeling good, suddenly two heavy cruiser bikes passed us like a bullet. I thought those were intruders but my friend said they were harleys. Anyway, my GS felt emasculated but continued all the way to Murree in 4th gear without any need to shift down.

    As we got near Murree, it started drizzling and we rushed into a restaurant for breakfast. While we were waiting for breakfast, i suddenly heard loud noise outside and to my amazement, it was hailing outside like crazy. Nothing we could do, so we had our breakfast and waited for the rain to be over.

    After breakfast we analyzed the weather, and decided to go on.

    As we continued, we noticed the ups and downs were much tougher than getting to Murree. GS was now moving in 3rd gear but it kept going on without a hiccup.

    While enjoying the ride and battling with rain, we continued towards "Thandiani". Yup, that's right. It was our final destination. Soon after we took a turn towards thandiani, climbings got even tougher, but nothing GS couldn't take. It went on and on in 2nd gear and never asked for 1st. I would have loved to take some photos of the tough thandiani road, but we were facing heavy rain and hailing so forgot all about pics and focused on getting to thandiani before our core temperature became too "thanda"
    We finally managed to get there and quickly booked a room. We were in no shape for roaming around at the moment, and weather was getting colder and colder. So we changed out wet clothes, had a quick tea and asked for nice spicy Karahi. Meal was delicious. After eating, got into the bed and that was all for the day. None of us was in the mood to come out. When i went to sleep, it was still raining outside, and it was looking like tomorrow is gonna be the same.


    Next morning, first thing i noticed was bright sunlight outside and i felt like i have never been happier before.
    Quickly jumped out of bed, and it was lovely outside.
    Well first things first, we took our wet clothes and spreaded in Sunlight to get them dried as much as possible.

    Then we decided to come down as we decided to meet a friend in Abbottabad while we were there, and then we had to make it back to ISL before sunset. So we went to Abbottabad and met him. After lunch, we started out journey back on Haripur Road to Hasan Abdal.

    Well... Damn stupid 3.00-18 tyre.
    It failed on highway cruising in hot weather.
    It punctured once while coming ISL to Lahore, and twice next day while coming from Lahore to BWP.
    On hot roads, it was overheating like crazy. 150CC proved too much for this tyre in this weather.

    Going 90/90 again.

    Default Rim problem?

    ok, according to puncture wala, it's the rim which is causing puncture again and again as the puncture location is on the inner side of tube always.
    His suggestion was to coat a thick layer of spray paint on the rim and it'll be fine. any logic in that??

    well looks like i'll be setting some record swapping the rims out again and again on my bike.

    But you are right, once in doubt... it seems better to get rid of the rim once and for all. I wasn't happy facing the puncture twice in scorching summer afternoon, with all that luggage on my bike too.
    Thank God, i didn't run into accident while facing flat tyre at high speeds, and always ended up within one kilometer of puncture wala.

    Time to do some kharcha now....
    Got the rim replaced with a new one, and upgraded the tyre to 90/90 so that it can take some beating on a hot day.
    And the beast is ready to rock the highways again...

    My brother went to Attock on his GS, and avg. he got was 52kpl (maintained speed of 70Kmph throughout, brakes are pathetic so he doesn't take risk of taking it to 80+).

    As i posted somewhere earlier, it is now 70,000+ driven and still with sealed engine... Never faced Rims issues and only goes to mechanic for periodic tuning...
