    Default Project Suzuki GS 500

    Dear All,
Finally after a lot of search i bought myself Suzuki GS500 its 97 model and ISB registered. When i bought the bike its engine was good what bike needed was its full cosmetic restoration. Rear left indicator and cowl was broken so i planned to redo it fully. Bike was bought in Ramadan and disassembled in the same month but i was too occupied with office work and progress on bike was also very slow so couldn't upload the snaps. Its still in restoration phase so thought to share it with all of you but be patient because this might take some time. So, below are the snaps of the bike when i bought it, its tank was redone because of rust and stuff.

havent seen al stuff but two things which must not get painted are engine and the Disc calipers.. I saw disc calipers are colored so its to late to comment I hope engine is not colored becuase it will give hard time if got it completly colored, if you want to make it look better best is to only get the side covers(tappa) colored only.

you would be thinking why disc calipers not to be colored is becuase those have plastic seals in it and if heated hard to make paint hard they will leak when put to work and most of the time its not easy to find seals or new seals dont work at all and one end up buying a complete new break set.

anothre thing is try to use orignal feul cork if you have it .. dont put handle bars for sporty look thing it will lose bikes handling almost completly. current handle seems OK

Yup claiper is already painted... for engine the plan is to paint the top cover and sides only else it will be a mess to handle. The original fuel petcock has leakage so looking for a new one if this cant be put to work again.
